It seems really clear that by 2028, we're going to have an empty SPR, substantial munitions shortages, greater strategic challenges, a larger national debt and substantially higher bond rates which will massively constrain future administrations.

i voted for Kamala in the general after voting Uncommitted in the primary, as did the vast majority of Black Uncommitted voters in Michigan i expect the vast majority of Stevens primary voters will vote for El-Sayed to keep the hardline MAGA scoundrel Mike Rogers out of the senate
Good and important messaging, but it is striking how Muslim candidates are repeatedly defamed as “terrorists” and then have to turn around and issue such statements when there is no similar expectation that Christian or Jewish candidates need to do the same for their Muslim-American constituents.

One thing that's notable about progressive candidates is that they tend to come on strong later in election season because people actually see and hear them, and they're actually good people with good messages. Mamdani went from "who" to "him" in a few months. El-Sayed was behind Stevens weeks ago.

Now that nobody has to vote for her anymore...I do kinda feel like Stevens was unusually bad in a Sinemaesque way. I am pleased that her and Platner are gone; I at least feel like the candidates who remain are ideologically aligned that fascism is bad, even if many of them are clueless how to fight.

Big tax results out of Missouri tonight: Voters statewide rejected by an huge margin a GOP ballot measure to phase out the income tax. They also renewed a sales tax to keep state parks free. And Kansas City approved a package of $1.7 billion of bonds for infrastracture.

I wanted Tom Steyer to be in the Governor's race, but he's not so I'm gonna vote for Becerra. I don't follow his campaign at all: I'm voting for him because he's not a Republican.
For years now, especially since Trump's first term, ballot measures reveal an awful lot about the voters in states a whole lot of people rush to the front of line to tell to fuck off The voters consistently reject GOP overreaches like this. Missouri's Amendment 4 aimed to make citizen-initiated constitutional amendments practically impossible. Kansas' Amendment 1 was designed to flip the state Supreme Court to ban abortion
Elissa Slotkin, who believes she's running for president, endorsed and did straight-to-camera ads for Maasdam. Woeful underperformance from him here.
The Downballot@the-downballot.com · 14h agoClimate activist William Lawrence, an outspoken progressive, has won the Dem nod for swingy #MI07, held by GOP Rep. Tom Barrett. Lawrence was aided by the fact that two more moderate candidates appeared to split the vote.
As it stands, even if Stevens maintains her edge in Wayne County, that's only about 40% of the difference she has to make up (14k at 53% in). She needs way more help from elsewhere.
