Interesting piece. Was just in Dublin this weekend and had a lovely time, got chatting to some locals on the Sunday and we noted there’s been an influx of not just Londoners to our bit of Glasgow but also Irish people who’ve been priced out back home.

Superb piece on the death of Dublin, killed by greed. It's not immigrants who wielded the blade; it's our own, developers and property owners obsessed with squeezing every penny of profit out of the city, on the backs of stressed, overworked people they've priced out of living in it #spéirġorm

I actually do feel bad for Liddle’s kids tbh, your dad is still your dad even if he’s a cunt. I’d imagine they’re intelligent enough to know how their father was perceived by the wider public though and will know to stay away from eg. online spaces where they might see something upsetting.

A lot of people today talking about an awful person who died but i want to make everyone aware of a good person who died: Northern Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket, who you should all look up if you don’t know. 10/10 all around wife guy, dad, granddad, and just a generally solid person

How are there so many beloved BBC journalists who look exactly like this and are also wildly racist pedophiles? At least I only have to learn about them when they die, but that seems to happen every couple of months now.

Photo from the Guardian of a jowly man with messy white hair.

I see Glinner’s having a go at ppl speaking badly of rod liddle. Quaking in his boots cos he must know full well the big party and rivers of champagne that will flow when he pops off. Tick tock, cunto.

I don't know if we'll ever have a reckoning about how the newsprint/westminster bubble is absolutely packed with predators and abusers and everyone knows about it but it's deemed horribly rude to ever fucking draw attention to it

Had a lovely time in Dublin this weekend. Found a wee bar near our apartment that six live jazz on a Sunday, so we booked a table. Had at least two separate couples come in and ask if they could share our table, said yeah and ended up chatting away to both of them :)

i'd say "pay attention to who has kind things to say about rod liddle, the racist pedophile, following his death" but to no surprise it is the entirety of the mainstream british press

Keep thinking about Ian Austin saying he thinks Boy George’s AI-generated pro-Israel song is amazing. Obviously contracted some form of degenerative dogshit brain disease from too much- [redacted due to legal advice]

While I have your attention, due to the portrait of Turing on them, I have been trying to nickname £50 notes 'an Alan' for a while now. Please help me to get this to catch on. 'They're £20 each,' you could say, 'or, special offer, I can do you three for an Alan.' Thanks in advance.

Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth

Lockdown was shite, of course it was shite. What I remember was the right wing doing everything they could to delay it, which meant that when it happened it had to be much longer and harsher. Now a GOOD question is "why haven't we done anything about air quality in enclosed spaces?"

There is no world in which you win from the position of -Unionist but pro-Indyref 2 -Corbynite on the economy -Rowlingite on LGBT+ rights Congratulations, you have managed to annoy *everyone* in Scotland

If you don’t want to respect a boycott, just don’t broadcast it and you won’t get yelled at. Then it’s just between you and your conscience. Very simple.

The Scottish govt did emergency funding in Glasgow after the union street fire because it completely destroyed dozens of small businesses and a bunch of other had to be shit for months. Edinburgh demanding the same because a few big shops are shut for a few weeks? Very Edinburgh

Going to Dublin for the weekend tomorrow and due to a misunderstanding around who would be bringing checked in baggage I’ve ended up with the big suitcase, which is only half full!
