The reason we have all these Claude-built recomp/decomp projects is because the AI dorks couldn't figure out how to shoehorn LLMs into games that were made 20 years ago so they all got together and had their agents do a little brainstorming and came up with a strategy to ruin yet another good thing.

That brief bit of introspection and humanity aside - fuck this, this absolutely needs to be slammed and had enough noise made about it for the people at the top to feel. Discord already has an unaddressed child exploitation problem, and now we are baking gambling sponsorships into the platform.

In local spaces, I've gotten a few compliments on my dead bounces and occasionally asked how I look for them. So I made a lil graphic of what I look out for! This applies to both Real and Vpins, the majority of my playtime is on VPX but I absolutely think this applies to both! Hope this is helpful!

The flippers of Monster Bash, with the left side colored to sections of the top of the flipper. Underneath is a legend that goes over what the colors mean. red: The "Uhoh!" zone! Don't try to dead bounce here, its very risky at best, will do the silliest, saddest flop over to the other side. Try other saves. Note: If the flipper is raised, the tip of the flipper is great for passing it over to the other side! green: The "Yippie!" zone! Leads to an ideal dead bounce! Don't panic flip, the ball will typically make its way to the other side and roll down at a pace thats easy to attempt a good shot. It also feels great! yellow:The "Wild!" zone! You're usually good to dead bounce here too! but be careful as the trajectory could be a bit bouncier than the green zone, and depending on the layout, bounce into sling territory (Bad!). purple: The ambiguous "What the hell!? I swear the ball hit the rubber there, why did it just slide off!?" zone! If the ball hits the inlane part and not the flipper, it usually doesn't bounce. Either get ready to flip on that side, or try shielding/cradling.

Whew... Finally did the conversion on my Stars of Akarios board game from v1.0 to v1.5. Maybe I'll finally start a solo, 2-character campaign or even wrangle my sibling into playing it with me. I just want to get finished with it before Threshold finishes up and ships.

I was busy with PAX and vacation, but uh, the 4th was my 10 year anniversary of existing as myself. I officially began transitioning ten years ago, nearly a third of my life ago. One day I went "fuck this", shaved off my side burns, and took a picture, that's how I still remember the date.

Yeah ok I tried to be positive about it and say "it's ok I'll just focus more on commentary this season then" but it's not working. Maybe it'll change in a future week but right now I'm bitter as hell and it's not really doing it for me to watch everyone else have fun for the next 3-ish months.
