But segregating trans people is alright and not political violence? I don't see these same people speaking out against the actual political violence our government is currently acting out. They'd rather get pissy about a repost of a picture of a guy wearing a t-shirt.

There are a lot of well-meaning guidelines on suicide prevention that frankly should not apply when the government is intentionally causing a suicide epidemic in a specific minority population.

Two notions should appear in anyone's head who looks at British Politics right now. Firstly "Parliament is Sovereign", and Carl Schmitt's "Sovereign is he who decides on the state of exception." The British System has an illusion of rule of law but there are constant exceptions.

I'm tired of saying this, but trans rights has become the earliest and biggest signal as to how serious a politician is about defeating modern fascism. Modern fascism is using trans people as the sharp end of the wedge. If politicians accept the wedge, they aren't interested in stopping it.

Andy Burnham remains my top enemy because of his U-turn on trans rights. There is no coming back from that. There is no wait and see, and there is no rehabilitation. It is a final, unforgivable line crossed.

when I cite lists like this at liberals they either A. demand a source for each point that explicitly says exactly these things because they refuse to try to read between the lines, then nitpick every source they are provided or B. block me instantly so many people just refuse to believe us.

"I don't like being called cis" "I don't like being called white" "I don't like being called abled" That's because you view yourself as "normal" or "the default" and everyone else as *not*. Viewing yourself as the baseline is just another form of prejudice. It's just a more implicit type.

I live in West Lothian, where this danger was given access to children and listened to by politicians. They all went totally silent after this and are pretending no one remembers. But we all remember in West Lothian when they sent a pedo for our kids

There are LBC fans arguing that food containing no animal products isn’t vegan, but “suitable for vegans” because for some reason, the idea that chips are vegan is upsetting them. Anyway if only someone cool had made a video essay about the politics of food, meat & veganism…

I think the langauge of "anti rights" is too weak and cautious, I would rather just go directly to calling sex matters a neo-fascist organisation because their segregation of gendered people is inherently an extension of fascist patriarchial logic, plus they have the backing of US christofascists.

It's great to wake up and think that 95% of y'all would've happily let the nazis destroy the lives of Jewish people, Roma, the disabled, and anyone they deemed subhuman in the 1930s because your apathy towards trans people, disabled people, the Roma and irish travellers TODAY speaks volumes.

The true acid test of whether Burnham means what he says about turning away from the dark, divisive politics of the US is trans rights, the huge assault on which came from the US and is bankrolled with US dark money.

By far the biggest problem with delegating judgement to machines is the people who own the machines can tune them towards outcomes they prefer but those who don't own anything can't. It's not the technology. It's a transfer of decision making power from rational accountable systems to capital.

No matter how eloquently you think you said "we need to pipe down about trans people," fascists are going to hear "it's ok to hate trans people" and now that economic doom is staring a lot of them in the face, ... maybe you don't know what's going to happen, but trans people do.

Oh no many queer people will remember this as the government that banned our healthcare, abated a bathroom ban on us, and pushed section 28 on trans kids. For future queer people this government will be remember as cruel as Thatcher.
