Democratic Socialist and whimsy enthustiast

Socialist Majority believes in a majoritarian movement for democratic socialism: we work together toward a bigger and unified DSA. We support the updated NYC-DSA dues page and applaud our SC members for voting to ensure there is only one standard of membership: national dues.

Rafael J (DSA-LA) says: “We need an NPC that understands the power of organizing and collective action. As a labor organizer with UAW, Clayton has been working tirelessly to build worker power and take on USC, one of LA’s most ruthlessly anti-union employers. Vote for Clayton!”

Today we want to introduce everyone to Clayton R for NPC, a militant labor organizer and elected leader on DSA-LA’s Steering Committee. As an organizer with UAW Region 6, he’s helped postdocs form organizing committees, through contract campaigns, and prepare for strike votes.

Trump's travel ban is not about safety. It's about racism and xenophobia. As the daughter of Haitian immigrants and the Chair of the Task Force on New Americans, I know the terrible pain these policies cause. We must fight back. ✊🏾 Nou la. Nou pa pe. 🇭🇹

Another huge ruling! The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals just DENIED the government's motion for a stay in the trans military ban case. The government CANNOT enforce it's ban on transgender people in the military still. BIG day for pro-transgender rulings.

The authoritarian turn promised in Project 2025 is here. ICE targets dissidents while the billionaire-run "DOGE" guts the federal government. Working people are mobilizing, but as Sam L argues in The Agitator, DSA's NPC is failing to meet the moment. www.socialistmajority.com/theagitator/...

DSA Must Seize the Moment

The tasks for socialists in the US in this moment are to mobilize popular support and organization against DOGE and the Trump administration, build whatever coalitions are necessary to stop their agen...

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Amazing article. "More recently, researchers have found that the viral outrage disseminated on social media ... actually reduces the effectiveness of collective action. The result is a media environment that keeps us in a state of ..fear and anger... instead of organizing against [our oppressors]."

You can’t post your way out of fascism Authoritarians and tech CEOs now share the same goal: to keep us locked in an eternal doomscroll instead of organizing against them 🔗 www.404media.co/you-cant-pos...

i'll be blunt, if you are someone who is vocal about the ways that diversity efforts "divide the working class" but silent about the ways that *actual racism and discrimination* divide the working class, then i think you're just an opportunist

Trump’s Attacks on DEI Get Approval From Some in the Left Wing

Many Democrats and activists are rallying to defend diversity programs, but others say they distract from deeper efforts to address inequality.

In last year’s budget, I fought hard to ban insulin copays for all New Yorkers with a state regulated health plan and won! Starting January 1st New York will be the first state in the nation to do so. This is my message to insurers: people over profits.
