On this day in 1923, Bertha Wilson was born. She was the first woman appointed to the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. She served on the Supreme Court from 1984 to 1991. She died in 2007. 📸 LAC

Three Indigenous creators are being recognized by the governor generals for their contributions of artistic achievement. One of them is Zacharias Kunuk, a self taught Inuk filmmaker whose work spans back to the 1980s. He says his focus is allowing Inuit to tell their stories in their own words.

didn't know these were being prefabricated. these BRT shelters look way nicer than the ones on Toronto's LRTs. much more pleasing lighting fixtures, ample platforms with large maps, and most importantly, more protection from the elements
