This is wild, I just checked my own name, and I also wasn’t on the list! Check your name and add it here: ottawa.ca/en/city-hall... I’ll be following up with Elections Ottawa to find out what’s up. But on voting day, you can also just show ID or sign an attestation at the polls to be able to vote.

I've heard from many people that they can't find their name on the voters list using the online checker. In fact, I'm not on the list! Today, I wrote to the Elections Office asking them to look into the matter. I suspect the problem is with the software, not the list itself, but let's be sure!

I've been waiting for this for a while: Jeff Halter's new app "Afterglow" lets you use classic After Dark screen saver modules on modern Macs. You can use your own modules if you have them, or install from the Internet Archive's selection right there in the app.

Every now and then, I tell myself that maybe I should consider not buying any more hoodies for myself. Today was not one of those days. 🙃

TFW the universe reminds you of not only how much better off you are after cutting someone off and walking away, but shows you exactly how far you've come. Six years and counting today.

AOC: I said this a couple of weeks ago: I would not be surprised if, when ICE funding started up again, we would start to see more civilian deaths at the hands of ICE. And that’s exactly what has happened. We didn’t see things like this happening with the same degree when we froze ICE funding.

Absolutely gutted. @belghast.com was a truly wonderful human being I had the honour of knowing for over a decade. Mark, thank you for your friendship over the years. You will be greatly missed by so many of us. May your memory truly be a blessing to everyone you’ve left behind.

Hey everyone, @Gazimoff and others. I’m not sure who knows, figured I’d just broad cast cause a lot of us knew him. Regrettably I must inform all that @belghast passed away yesterday on July 2nd, due to I believe complications with chemotherapy. His last sentiment to most was of love and I […]

Woke up this morning to discover that some beloved Manitoba Maples at the park that was part of a large chunk of my childhood didn’t survive the aftermath of the storm that hit town. Little by little, the park we knew and loved changes, but the memories remain the same.

The idea of “visibility” isn’t something neutral that society gets an opinion on. It’s a person living as they actually are, something no one else gets to define for them. Calling it a mistake isn’t contrarian, it’s depraved

Those who are under their mid-40s may not remember that Slate was originally conceived as a contrarian endeavor. Setting aside whether that was ever useful, this is a really disgusting example of that genre.

the one pride billboard in southern manitoba (rural bible belt region, one of the towns only just had their first-ever pride march last week) was vandalized a few days ago, so they made tshirts of it. lmfao gettem

a billboard of a rainbow that says "pride belongs in the pembina valley" with spray paint scribbled all over it. kinda made it look cooler tbh they didn't do a great jobthe same defaced rainbow on a black tshirt. text: "you can't spray the gay away" (pembina valley pride)

Fresh #Arch install on my main rig. Feels nicer than a fresh Windows install. I have definitely made the right choice - still not a single Windows device in this house belongs to or is used by me.

Moms deserve ALL the flowers, but flowers & chocolate can’t fix the disastrously falling dominoes that start the moment a person becomes a mom: Republican leaders must stop undercutting moms & end the affordability crisis. @msnownews.bsky.social   www.ms.now/opinion/moth...  #HappyMothersDay
