This is exactly the issue. Decisions are so clearly made to suit the priorities of the property owning class of Seattlites at the expense of the working class. The cognitive dissonance is shameful.

This is a heartbreaking failure in the WA LEG. It would have made it easier for those harmed by negligent drivers to seek a remedy. It passed the House just HOURS after Lili Moreno was killed by a driver in Capitol Hill. Too often, our laws protect dangerous drivers more than the people they kill.

Rep. Reed's bill dealing with presumed liability for crashes involving people who are walking or biking looks to be dead. Senate law and justice committee chair Manka Dhingra just pulled it off their list of bills getting a vote today, at the last committee meeting before tomorrow's cutoff.
