Same person as twitter, reddit, et al. Priest, Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi. Musician/singer/composer. "Too Catholic to Function." Chinese/Japanese/Hawaiian. Lefty politics, traddy liturgies, so feminist it hurts. She/her.

Seriously I don't know what the webpage for any of those things are. I'm sure I could search for it but literally never been there! These tech guys telling on themselves: so you never learned basic functioning you've probably been leaching off women or POC & now you leach off a machine?

Equally, zero* white Americans seem to feel any sort of compunction for the atrocities of indigenous genocide, the Atlantic slave trade, copious colonialism, and environmental degradation even when they directly benefit from the consequences of said events.

A lot of white Americans seem to think that all Muslims are responsible for 9/11, and really, that every non-white group is responsible for anything bad anyone from that group has ever done

The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

At a theater job, the lead actor received a better offer two days before rehearsals started. Under contract, he knew management could fire him for "reasons", so he became an absolute jerk to everyone in the cast and crew. He got fired, left for the other job. But... news got there first. Fired, #2.

"he allegedly admitted to creating a fake account and sending the messages to himself so he could step away from the show instead of dealing with what he described as difficulties with the cast and crew" perfect. no notes

I abhor the way online warriors leverage the word “heresy” to describe priests they don’t like. I’ve heard heretical priests (and I say that word knowing the weight it carries), and 99.9% of the complaints online are not even CLOSE.

Frankly, I would be okay with some nice looking stickers you could go through and paste over the old pages with some new pages. It would be a bit janky but even that would be better than the current situation? Yes time consuming, but like, make it a youth project or smth idk.

I have my gripes and want more thoroughgoing revision eventually, too. But I think we are really shooting ourselves in the foot with this one. I know it costs a lot. I know it’s hard. Is there ANY way we can make the book in our pews look like our modern church? 5/5 fin

Today on Reddit, someone wanted to learn about our same sex marriage rites, because their partner is Episcopalian. OP seems pretty unfamiliar with church stuff (which is fine and normal!) They did a completely sane and reasonable thing, which is to look at the BCP. (1/)

America the only country where people are so appalled when I tell them I don't drive that I pretend I don't know how to instead of the truth, which is I find it very boring and I'd rather just take the train/bus and chat with someone than spend that time getting mad at random strangers

For obvious reasons, I don't think I can say more, but if there's any hazing process in the episcopal church, it's trying to actually make a call happen in a somewhat reasonable amount of time. (Read: my lease is running out and I've been trying to get a job for 9 months and yet, it looks like it

IMO, the grand problem is COVID discourse is that our leaders *did* fuck things up, and no one actually wants to admit what the mistakes were.

🧵On @thenewsagents.co.uk yesterday, school closures and the lab leak theory were offered as two examples of legitimate questions that were hard to ask. Both have in fact been asked constantly since 2020. But here's a thread on why I think they were wrong and dangerous on school closures 1/12

Detroit is the Blackest city in America and Rashida has managed to win primaries there and build rapport with her Black constituents so I’m not worried about her losing. I do despise this idea that only centrist bourgeoisie Black people represent the “Black community”. Its grifter bullshit

So it’s been quite a day in the Sibley household…. We are excited for the work ahead, but also mourning that we will leave St Paul’s in Walla Walla, which is just the most incredible parish. Would appreciate your prayers/thoughts for the days ahead in this transition. www.diolex.org/bishop-elect

Okay so here's the thing. I'm preaching on "Come O Thou Traveller Unknown" and verse 12 cribs DIRECTLY from "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" which is lowkey blowing my MIND?? Also in general the punctuation for Hark makes a HUGE different poetically, not to mention all the verses we don't sing...
