Under Trump & RFK Jr.: -22,000 cyclospora cases and 2 deaths -Multiple ongoing salmonella outbreaks -Measles cases at 35-year high -New "forever chemical" pesticides in our food supply How the hell is any of this Making America Healthy Again?

My friend was laid off a few months after moving to a new state to take a job. I can't imagine how devastating that must be. Consider making a small donation to show support for a trans librarian who's going through a terrible time. 📚 www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...

Trump is normal politics to them! this has been their whole life! and frankly they have no reason to believe in the pre-Trump world if it led to this

Been thinking about this a lot as so many Democrats ~my age & older fret about why The Kids These Days are supporting “socialism” & DSA candidates. Spending one’s days around 18-22 year olds quickly makes clear they have ~no frame of reference of a “normal politics” that looked like the Obama years.

This year's first years' were born in 2008. Last years' modal first political memory in Intro to IR was either Obama 2012 or Trump 2016. Students have ~no memory of "normal 🇺🇸 politics" pre-Trump, let alone the Cold War, post-Cold War, Iraq 2003, the GFC, etc. Important to benchmark when teaching.

In a strange and sick way, this contrived “controversy” perfectly encapsulates one of the enduring legacies of 9/11—rabid and often unchecked Islamophobia, evident in attacks on Muslim, Arab, and even Sikh communities in the wake of September 11; the global war on terror; the resistance to Obama; 1/

Twenty-five years after the mayor of New York City became the champion of America's grief and resilience at the time of the 9/11 attacks, families of those killed are split on whether the current mayor should attend the annual remembrance. https://cnn.it/4zkKYdc

Reminder: Todd Blanche has… -Weaponized the DOJ to persecute Trump’s political foes -Purged hundreds of career DOJ lawyers -Botched the release of the Epstein files and ignored victims’ wishes He can’t be trusted and has no business being Attorney General. The Senate must reject him.

"removing my adhd diagnosis was a relief (because of ablest policies that discriminate against a significant proportion of the population)" is the new "I'm happier after detransitioning (despite my ongoing dysphoria, because I'm not being actively transphobically abused every day by my society)"

You'd have to read to the thirteenth paragraph to discover the pull quote for the title was from Marcus Siding, a 23-year-old Swedish man living in Sweden that wanted to become a cop, but his ADHD diagnosis at the age of 12 barred him by law from becoming a Swedish cop Seems relevant

'“When my ADHD diagnosis was removed, it was a relief’
Rates of conditions such as ADHD and autism seem to be ever growing, but some adults diagnosed in childhood are happy to be free of their labels”

It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough

Trans history post: Hijron ka khanqah (Hijra/transfeminine retreat) is a compelling reminder that our trans & queer histories do not require imprimatur from dominant global north-biased queerness. We are alive. This resting place for Hijra sisters in Delhi dates from 1452-1526 (Lodi dynasty). 1/2

Some people fully believe that them being healthy is entirely dependent on their sensible little choices & lives & not also a giant roulette wheel that can land on your number any time. And trust me, i would know. Though when I *was* healthy I still didn't feel that ill/old people were expendable!

Jokes aside, I see people go "I think I'm trans but I'm not gonna address it because of all the difficult stuff, what would I get out of it?" And the answer is true joy. That's what you get out of it. Unless you face yourself, fully and completely, and know who you are, you will never find true joy.

"Being trans is sad Being trans is horrid." Shut up. Being trans is great. Look. I've got inner peace and a fucking scythe.

Today is Roma Holocaust Memorial Day. Around 500,000 Roma & Sinti people were killed by the Nazis in the Porajmos. There was no state given to them after the war. Commemoration of their suffering is often diminished or forgotten. Racism towards Romani people across Europe remains acceptable.
