Benmore Dam on the Waitaki river in Aotearoa NZ is the country's biggest dam. It can produce 821.3 kW per cubic metre of water per second. This means every kW of renewable energy produced retains 1.2 litres per second or 4.3 cubic metres (4.3 tonnes of water) per hour!
