literary home of the trans, queer, Crip, and sick

for kith crit reasons I'm looking for an accessible, comprehensive intro to ttrpgs. who or what is a resource you would send someone to if they knew nothing about them and were trying to find a steady way in? bonus points for resources that get into the craft of writing them.

Every day I open this app to someone losing their shit about a book I thought was middling at best and, isn't that fantastic? Isn't it incredible that we're a multiplicity? Isn't it amazing that all of these authors got the job done and now we get to choose? Go write your book. Go deepen our choice.

what's your literary catnip, a motif or plot that gets you every time? Give me a rural, working class guy thinking over his life and you can skip all the extras, I'll stay in this room. standouts: John of John, Douglas Start Solar Bones, Mike McCormack Your Breath in Charcoal, Nicholas Herring

"actually his stuff was very Derivative and not Original" like, you don't have to do this. it is good for us all to sit with the cognitive dissonance that a very bad person can make very good art. it is good for us to work through the moral ramifications of that.

if you're a writer the single most valuable thing you can do for your mind is put it to as much non-writer-specific stuff as possible. do not hang out with other writers exclusively. do not for the love of god publish something called like 'What We Write About When We Write About Writing'

A poem-story collection: "It’s a lovely little object, small enough to fit in your back pocket, and comes stuffed from ear to ear with singular experiments, unrestricted by their form." - Blake Butler, author of There is No Year & Molly Buy it in print or epub here: traumbooks.com/black-hole-s...

cover art for Black Hole Science is Filled with Apologies by Never Angeline North. It's a collage of a cartoon mother and a girl in a bedroom and the girl is pointing outside the window where there is a giant floating snake and a yellow star in a black and red sky.

"i will write something beautiful. i’ll teach him how to swim" ‍ ‍ - beautiful In young velvet porcelain boy, Fantin offers up transness as hopespace and healing; as rending and reforming within sight of the past. early 2027 kithbooks.com

young velvet

myself? a press,
a bluely eternal
in manifold distress
and dry heat
reduced
to this sensible reality—
this squeal
you can’t stand,
that empty everything
that fits the groove
of clear daylight
and a waiting boy
