Isn’t it lovely here on Bluesky when someone who was an absolute and irredeemable cunt dies. It’s like that time a few years back when we were all on YouTube watching the big planes landing in the wind. United by something wholesome and pure. ❤️

Early Noughties, pre-Springwatch, Bill presented the annual short-lived @mojomagazine.bsky.social Pub Quiz. It was in a dark period of his life, battling depression, but he was great; funny, acerbic, steeped in weird rock lore. A short gig but his daughter Rosie later told us he loved doing it.
Farewell Bill, most radical of the Goodies. Present at Grosvenor Square with Tariq & Vanessa. Turned his harassment by the Met into slapstick TV comedy for kids. Angry, hairy, furiously talented.
RIP Bill Oddie. "On Ilkla Moor Baht’at," his version of a 19th Century Yorkshire song set to a parody of Joe Cocker's "With a Little Help from my Friends," done for John Peel's Dandelion label in 1970. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir_Y...

Unexpectedly hugely sad to hear Bill Oddie has died. A brilliant songwriter, this one is a psychpop gem, shades of The Move and the Manfredd’s Up The Junction and catchy as hell. youtu.be/xYVBnizAwEE?...

I’ve been standing stock still in this wood for about 10 minutes while I mess about with a photo on my phone. I look up, notice the shape, and slowly crouch down to film This has made me so happy I feel I could cry. It’s as close to magic as I hope to get.
Amazing to see @deaf-school-live.bsky.social with @sarahdeaves.bsky.social @kmale.bsky.social - one of the highlights was the intro film from @grantmcphee.bsky.social which was wonderful!!!
And in many ways, aren't we all a dog high on cannabis at Ben Nevis?

Trump is precise here. Although Harold II sought to blame Trotskyite revisionists within the ranks for his defeat at Hastings, it was shrewd Norman capital investment and the resulting industrial innovations -- including overwhelming air superiority -- that proved decisive for William the Conqueror.
My lovely daughter is walking the Camino de Santiago, solo, in memory of her friend Juliette who died so tragically from meningitis earlier in the year. All money raised will go to the Meningitis Research Foundation. Should you be able to help she, and Juliette’s family, would be immensely grateful.
