The japanning experiments have begun, first was a failure which was just mixing equal parts shellac and boiled linseed oil and with one part lamp black, basically 10:1. Second attempt was the same mix but heating it up to near boiling to get the two to mix better and I'll see how it looks tomorrow.

Completely shark-free thriller about an FBI profiler on the hunt for a serial killer no one believes exists. At the 90 minute mark, we finally see the killer about to attack a couple who are swimming in the bay & then a gigantic shark launches out of the water and bites him in half. Cut to credits.
