Matthew Facciani@matthewfacciani.bsky.social · 4h agoNew study suggests that teaching people to trust "reliable" outlets or distrust "unreliable" ones (e.g., NewsGuard-style tools) probably won't fix partisan misinformation belief, because people accept or reject claims based on whether the claims fit their politics, not based on who's reporting them.

(1) Obvious cruelty and prejudice of hiding detainees from their families & lawyers. (2) Is not going to get DHS very far on the habeas track; the "unknown custodian" exception lets petitioners name the DHS secretary instead of warden. (3) But that's mostly only good for those with lawyer access.

As of last week, anyone jailed by ICE with a final order of removal will NOT appear in the ICE Online Detainee Locator System, making them effectively vanish.

Our students don’t deserve this. For those who don’t understand UT Austin admissions, most undergrads get in bc they were top 5% of their graduating class, from a Texas high school. Anyone calling for more white students is advocating for race conscious admissions - to help out white students.
