Texas isn't a red state. It's a state held hostage by gerrymandering and voter suppression. Hell, earlier this week they announced they're shutting down half the voting centers in Tarrant County (that's Fort Worth, 2.2 million people) and kicked everyone out of the hearing who wanted to comment.

Fundamental to movement conservatism today is the idea that anything liberal or "woke" is a part of a nefarious, top-down, alien program of ideas that normal people don't want, rather than the slowly shifting, popular cultural pseudo-consensus that it is. Don't feed that!
Whether someone realizes it or not, accepting the "liberal bubble" framing at all is a way of granting the utterly absurd notion that the globally reviled and increasingly unpopular views of the reactionary right are the norm

As someone who grew up in one of the more stupid and reactionary places in this country: THEY'RE the ones in the bubble. They're the ones who refuse to leave, who refuse to consider other perspectives or how life could be different. And despite being coddled like this they also love playing victim.

Reminder: a bunch of right wingers once tried to gain a foothold on this website, & they failed miserably because the feed here is chronological, & there are ample moderation tools. When the right isn't given special treatment on social media, their impact has no juice

Conservative views aren't being suppressed here, they are just A) not being boosted and B) incredibly unpopular because they are odious
