Two days of marbling and I pulled ~25 sheets on 24x36 in paper. Most will be chopped up (and the wobbly bits ignored) and sent as cards or gifted as sets of blank cards for others to gift. I'm kind of proud of myself after not marbling in years!

Got into chess earlier this year. After being *terrible* at first, I decided my goal for 2026 was to hit 1000 elo. I'm on the cusp on the two types I play 😅 (not for the first time. I've been above 995 rapid a bunch of times in the past week, and never hit 1k yet 🫠)

When Artemis II was in space I wrote that "it made me wonder how NASA specifically plans for supportive teams and environments." Leave it to @hankgreen.bsky.social to do an interview that touches on it. Savor. Laugh. Curiosity. Operational psychologists. art19.com/shows/humans...

Astronaut Reid Wiseman Thinks We're Going to Be OK

The commander of NASA’s Artemis II mission slid into Hank’s DMs on Instagram asking to talk. Their conversation covers what it’s like to leave Earth behind, why astronauts need to be active followers,...

this weekend i googled horsepower, for reasons. google's ai summary described it as the work it takes for a horse to lift 30,000 pounds this is stupid for a lot of reasons but at least now i have a mental image of a 1 horse lifting 35 average adult horses

This was commissioned by a trad institution for their anniversary (very cool client tbh) but didn't get used in the end. I especially enjoy the uileann piping eagle, who's pose I had to get the experts to weigh in on

Three twisty Celtic animals playing the fiddle, squeezybox and uileann pipes respectively

60% drop in reviews if people even smell AI on your game - full supports the investors, developers, and publishers that took a hard "no gen-AI" stance, despite grifters' proclamations that they were "going to be left behind".

Someone actually crunched the numbers, and using GenAI can decrease reviews for indie game on Steam (a useful proxy stat for sales) by as much as *58%* 🤖

The conversation I have had with each of my kids: "if you *ever* run into a problem online and you think you're in trouble, you can *always* come talk to me about it, and if you think I will be upset about a choice you made just start out by saying 'I may need some help.'" And I will take that...

And it's why the biggest internet safety advice I give parents of teenagers is to make crystal clear that they will never blame their kid for being the victim, because that is the ONLY way they will ever know there's a problem. bsky.app/profile/raha...

My friend Deepa, an artist in India, is crowdfunding for SatRangaM, India's biggest queer theatre festival. It needs more support to break even when they go on stage later this month with twelve performances, all written and directed/choreographed by queer artists, + workshops & discussions:

Also: if you someone thinks they need AI to make art due to their disability, I would gently suggest that perhaps their idea of what art is & should be is probably rooted in ableism as well. Speaking for myself as a disabled artist who has struggled w losing former modes of expression.
