1. The book I have read the most times is “Constellation Games” by Leonard Richardson. Runner up is…Tombs of Atuan, I think (maybe Stranger in a Strange Land?)

Poem hunt! Late C19/20th, something along the lines of "Be a flower, sweet girl, be a flower / stay [minimising compliment] and neat / Or thrust yourself into a tree and have the world at your feet." Possibly 'be a rose'? But not the E Dickinson Gentian poem. Search skills failing, any clues?

I am concerned about C.J. Cherryh, who lives in Spokane WA. I am no longer on Facebook and do not have her personal contact information. Can anyone confirm that she and her partner are safe from the Old Trails Fire?
We must imagine Sisyphus to be a bike messenge.
I’d love a good think piece from one of the Wikimedia organizational sociologists on why/how the only “thank” button *that requires confirmation* is on Wikipedia, a site that nominally loves pro-social behavior.
Hitting this goal will also allow TNN to launch fellowships for particularly marginalized trans journalists, which is desperately needed in this field.

“Thyroid medicine recalled nationwide” “The Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets [from Major Pharmaceuticals] were recalled because they are subpotent, meaning they are not fully effective” If I’m understanding right, I think this is a generic equivalent for Synthroid. thehill.com/homenews/599...

There's a joke in software: What idiot wrote this bad code? Oh yeah, me six months ago. As an older, wiser, software engineer I can say: What idiot wrote this code? Me 20 years ago
Heck with it; if my skeleton is going to Be This Way and keep me awake, I want to hear about your cool wheelchair Yes, yours What's your favorite thing about it? What's the best one you've ever driven? Do red ones go faster?

The study is: gather a cohort of people with B12 <250 or so. Compare oral, IV, and injection supplementation. Measure symptoms before and after ~3 months of treatment. Patients widely report that blood serum B12 has nothing to do with how they FEEL, but that number is the only thing studies look at
I’m not published enough to have a full ego shelf yet, but I do have a combination ego/aspirational shelf, where my work is set between others I admire in hopes that osmosis will improve matters.
Enough of the horrors and doom scrolling. Let's talk about something fun. How do you arrange your books?
anyone got a pro hockey romance they love? mm, mf, ff, other, all great, but please no female figure skater falls for male hockey player. (pro writing, not pro hockey)
I was just thinking about this. Two specific examples: 1. 20 years ago, Gardner Dozois wanted to reprint a story in Year’s Best SF, but he couldn’t find contact info for the author. 2. There’ve been people who we wanted to invite to be Otherwise jurors but who we couldn’t find contact info for.
Authors, I am BEGGING you: Please have a dedicated website with, at bare minimum, a list of your published works and current contact information. You don't know how many potential opportunities you're missing out on by not having even the most basic website.
Apparently large swaths of the T-Mobile network are down nationwide, but someone please explain to me how it's only affecting one of my phones and the other one still has service. Bizarre!

We only found one possibility. A social media company had quietly allowed users to start having emojis in usernames. We tested that, but just having a emoji didn't bring down the platform. But when that user made a mention of our customer's name, it did. 4/
Copy editing tip: if you state that someone looks like “the male member” you should probably specify in the same sentence “of the band.”
