Sometimes I feel like the only person in my life who cares about their health. Everyone is so cavalier about wildfire smoke or sun exposure or illness. Nobody wears sunscreen or a mask or anything unless I make them. We can make our own choices but my kids can’t manage risk and nobody else does it.

Scattered the ashes of an uncle today. He died 12 years ago. We weren’t ever close but I remember visiting him (but mostly my cousins) every summer. Time is a weird pattern of stops and starts and remembrances. I hope it takes 12 years to do my ashes (dump my body at the legislature sooner though)

In my humble brown opinion, the trans rights movement urgently needs to draw from decolonial movements which have successfully toppled entire regimes by creating radical organizations that encourage and publicize targeted boycotts of specific companies that fund and enable genocide.

One of the things I find about being a parent of young kids is a lack of time for most things but especially things that requires quiet and solitude to work on. Emotional processing or introspection or whatever? Better do it while making snacks and cleaning the kitchen and having friends over.

Neither were old enough at the time but coal miner and mechanic/farmer with a side order of Liberator tail gunner and anyway I’ll pass.

I can’t imagine the pain of having my child go missing for this long and having it come to this end. I checked my property multiple times despite being on the other side of the city. Heartbreaking.

Even in Canada, I fear that the key lessons politicians have “learned” from the pandemic is that it is less political trouble for them to let people die than it is to do what’s necessary to keep them alive.
