To every out trans person: You’ve made the world a place where I can finally recognize myself. Thank you for the visibility that turned a lonely path into a shared journey.

Happy Juneteenth, everyone!! There aren't many national holidays I feel good about anymore, but today is definitely the big one.
I had a similar experience with my gender transition. All the sadness and discomfort and abuse that I endured and DIDN'T NEED TO.... it lands on you like a ton of bricks.
Like Nome, I started meds late (age 43 for me) and I will also warn you that after you take your first dose of the med that works for you (which is not always the first med you try!) it is very common to have an utter meltdown over how fucking long it took and how long you were struggling!
This thread is a GODDAMN MASTERPIECE of synthesis. Required reading.
Douglas Adams: > Anything in the world when you're born is normal, ordinary and a natural part of the world. Anything invented between when you’re 15-35 is new, exciting and revolutionary and you can get a career in it. Anything invented after you're 35 is against the natural order of things. 1/
He always struck me as a kind and generous person. What a loss.
A story I love about Anthony Stewart Head. Thank you to this person for sharing it on Tumblr. What a mensch.
Half way through the fourth Matrix film and it is a HARD watch.
YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. If my egg hadn't already cracked, I'm pretty sure these stories would do it. Happy Pride!
why did you transition, right answers only Y'all kept posting before-and-after pictures and the wave of longing that swept through me was something I couldn't ignore. What would it be like to intentionally make a "me" that I loved? I finally couldn't wait any more to find out.
why did you transition, right answers only i knew she was in there and keeping her hidden away from the world was too painful to bear
I walked by this Minneapolis church today and it sparked a memory. A few years ago I went with a friend to see @assignedmale.bsky.social speak about THE TRANS AGENDA (ie, "a normal lifespan") at this church. I bought a book, and when I went up to ask her to inscribe it I was TOTALLY TONGUE TIED. 1/
The best damn burger I've ever had was at a place called Cured, now sadly closed. It was served on a metal rimmed tray with a piece of butcher paper. Plain bun and a bare patty and it was A REVELATION.
I don't want to hear about your lost loves, tell me about the restaurant food that haunts you because you'll never be able to taste it again
I am enough of an institutionalist that I still generally believe that the facts reported by "old media" are factual, while saving my skepticism for what they choose to report or not. But this is gross. Clear and convincing evidence of an editorial double standard. Just 🤮🤮🤮.
The NYT removed the "um"s in Trump's answer on Taiwan, but put "um"s in AOC's answer on Taiwan to make her look dumb Trump said "Um, I would say 'like' is maybe too strong a word...um, no, I'm holding that in abeyance and it depends on China, depends, it's a, it's a.." L: Trump R: AOC Video below
Take it as a compliment. I am assuming (a) that you are doing it unintentionally, and (b) will want to modify your behavior if I point it out. If I'm not confident in both, I'm not going to say anything.
friends, the response if someone tells you you are doing a bigotry is "oh shit tell me more" if you say "no I didn't" even if you WEREN'T doing a bigotry, now you are
I AM HOARSE FROM YELLING THIS AT EVERYONE ALL THE TIME FOR YEARS AND NO ONE LISTENS TO ME
“Use AI to brainstorm but not to write.” “Use AI to help you outline but not to write.” These are commonly proposed as “ethical” ways for undergrad students to use AI, but I’m sorry, brainstorming & outlining are just as integral to writing as the actual construction of sentences.
Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pretty: He is .... the most INTERESTING DOG IN THE WORLD.
Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet: It was a toss-up between serious and silly, but I went with silly on this one.
These are FABULOUSLY fun books and you should BUY ALL THREE RIGHT NOW.
Once upon a time @totallydonna.kitrocha.com & I wrote a trilogy about book nerds in a dystopian future who just wanted to build a library but the tech bros wouldn't stop being evil so they did community organizing & crimes. They are ON SALE this month for $2.99! www.kitrocha.com/series/merce...
I admit that I did not know about this until recently. And I still haven't re-watched The Matrix. However, this speech of Lana Wachowski's is worth your time if you haven't seen it.

It's weird that chuds still say "red-pilled" to refer to their beliefs considering it should be common knowledge that the actual red pill in the matrix scene is meant to represent estrogen. Neo picking it over the blue pill (prozac) is a metaphor for choosing transition instead of repression.
Discovering I was demi (in my early 40s) explained a LOT about my life up to then. It was seriously one of those "wait, the rest of y'all don't feel like this?!" moments.
Hi there, from your friendly neighborhood enthusiastically sex-favorable demisexual gal! We're here, we're queer, and our physical attraction patterns are based on the type and degree of social connection we have with someone and are therefore deeply unpredictable!! 😅
The second "p" in "apoptosis" is silent. Ah-puh-TOE-sis. It's the Greek prefix "apo" (away) and the Greek root "ptosis" (falling). The p in "ptosis" is silent for the same reason the p in pterodactyl is silent.
Everyone activate emergency discourse topics: mine is that I think the two guys from ABBA have definitely seen each other naked
