THREAD. Contrary to what you are being told, 40 years of polling have established that shifting money away from police/prisons toward social services is one of the most popular public policies among *all* political demographics. But it's not just that, it goes way deeper.

We should really work together, hand and hand, to focus all of our community’s poorly-suppressed and totally ruthless bullying energy on the single demographic we all agree actually deserves it: Harry Potter Adults in the year of our lord 2026

THREAD. The New York Times just published a propaganda piece that portends dangerous trends in the coming months. Corporate media wants to help a group of sociopathic monied interests (called "moderates" here) to boost fascism by deceiving people about their true motives.

NYT headline about moderate democrats planning war on the left.

I was a historian of the atomic bomb decision from 1989-95 and coauthored an 800+ page book on the politics behind the decision. I’ve seen a lot of documentaries, but this is new to me. Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams: “There’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team. Anytime. I don’t think it’s a problem in the world, it’s just another way to kind of attack trans people.”

I don’t know how to use chatgpt etc but I imagine it’s going to a website and typing “oh no what groceries do I buy please tell me false god for I am so weak I cannot go on” as your brain atrophies and leaks out of your ears from disuse and the machine is like “buy eggs milk bread and a horse”

Folks, the US lost to Iran, decisively, and there is no way to un-lose now by any practical means. The IRI is the hegemon of the Gulf Arabs now. The Strait of Hormuz will not be free again in my lifetime. Freedom of navigation is dead as international norm. He ruined the world. Best to make do.

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
