I must not engage in discourse. Discourse is the vibe-killer. I will face the discourse. I will permit it to pass over me and around me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the discourse has gone there will be nothing. Only vibe will remain.

This. It's nearly impossible to describe if you weren't there.
One thing gen z and younger may not realize is how uniformly deranged software and computer ads were in the 80s-2000s
I'm reviewing slides for someone else's talk and the subtitle for one is "The Architecture Worked…Until It Had to Scale" and my brothers and sisters in tech, I'm here to tell you that's the story of every #monitoring and #observability vendor, feature, and/or project ever.
Like we thought we'd get a terminator apocalypse, but instead we get a sort of Internet Kessler Syndrome.
We need to talk about banning meta glasses at conferences. Yes, we usually sign a release with the tickets to allow for conference photographers, but this is clearly not that. If you speak to me with these on at Kubecon, I will simply walk away. Doesn't matter who you are or what the question is.
New: Target staff "pranked" for social media; a comedian filmed mid-set; a Sprouts worker whose boss started wearing Meta glasses; and a cashier worried customers are filming down her shirt. Meta glasses are in the workplace, and workers feel powerless to stop it. 🎁 www.theverge.com/report/98241...
this is why I really like @ed3d.net's goal of people just "being normal" as a minimum criteria to interact with them, rather than a litmus test about "pro-ai, anti-ai" etc
This was honestly such an interesting season! Really forces you to think about what it takes to actually build a product - not just the technical aspects, but all the things it's easy to miss that go along with it, how you tell the story and solve the real problem for people. Worth it!!

Belle fell in love. When Beast realised, he raged, which made him realise he, too, had fallen. He could not, and would not, compete. He respected her choice. As the last petal fell from the Rose he sighed. His servant would not become human again, but would forever remain Library.
"I'm sure you know this," the swordmaster said, "but to be a good teacher, you must be a good listener." "Mm-hm," said the witch. "And if you are a good listener, people will talk to you." "Not all." "No. But those who nobody listens to..." "Yes." "It's... heavy." "You can send some to me."
"Yoink!" the dragon said. "That's mine now." I took a breath to protest but was distracted by being able to take a breath. I took a few more, without a coughing fit. "You healed me?" "Pff. Why would I do that? I stole your cough for my hoard." "You hoard illnesses? I can help you find more!"
"OK, let's see if you can fight. He couldn't." Legendary
I just want to know who's baby this is? Because I am proud of her like she's one of mine. This is perfection

Why IT leaders should unpack AI before they buy
AI means different things in different contexts. An IT pro suggests companies define terms like LLMs and agentic systems before investing in tools.
