Building an AI application is interesting because the application is basically just a giant context passing machine. You need to whisper the right things into a demon's ear so it can reason its way through writing a workpaper. You can then summon a stronger demon review it.

fighting games are like that. I went something like 200-0 in Tekken against normal people once, a "beat the pro" type of thing for charity. I finally threw a game so I could donate. I say I'm "okay" because against the best player in the USA, I won one game in ten and it was a fluke I didn't earn

This is not what happened. The crew died because they made a series of poor decisions and weren’t prepared to operate in the conditions that they were. This isn’t a personal hit to that crew, it’s a condemnation of the medevac / aviation vendor’s standards.
