Toitū Te Tiriti, feminism, tax wealth, climate justice. I work for Auckland Women's Centre but this is my personal account.
Being at the fulcrum of attacks like this is awful. Some folks seem to forget your humanity and lose their own. It’s not Winston’s first rodeo; he knows the impact his words have and what they set off. It’s not OK.
Are you joking? Winne started a homophobic disinformation campaign against a non binary MP knowing full well what that would translate to online. Threats, harassment and other online violence. So serious, that MP left. Unbelievable #nzpol
Senior NZ First youth figure linked to neo-Nazi group
This is not one of the two far-right linked NZ First members reported on recently, but a third individual
Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.
Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later.
Anyone who has worked with domestic violence victims know the answer to this is too often yes.
In times like these, it’s important to pay attention to the grand unifying narratives ideas are hooking on to. Like that children are there to be controlled by adults, like babies and birth are commodities to be controlled by the state, like citizenship is a state more valuable than non-citizenship.
Another gen of abuse in state care and it can get in the bin and be fired into space 🔥
This policy would directly lead to physical abuse of disabled and neurodivergent children. Tell your friends. I'm absolutely serious.

Luxon criticises Nash for his misogyny, yet introduces legislation harmful to women, then criticises Peters for his racism, when Luxon's basically spent the last three years being racist towards Māori & trying to get rid of Te Tiriti obligations. Stuart & Winston just say it out loud 🤷♀️ #nzpol

No, it's just me, surely? I'm not the only one seeing this? Our Prime Minister acknowledges Winston Peters is racist, but is "relaxed" about Peters being our Foreign Minister? There are few lines to be read between, here.

The 'Inv-Asian' migration wave of the 90s was dominated by nuclear family units. To be an Asian kid in the 90s like Lawrence (or me, though I was born here) was to grow up isolated & in the shadow of hatred and violence instigated by a guy who is currently the Deputy PM still doing the same thing.
Winston used to dogwhistle generically - 'ostentatious houses' etc. Now he's doing blatant birtherism and racist tirades, and stating that Asian immigrants do not have the right to be in Parliament, to zero consequence. Motherfucker thinks he's won, and so far he's right.
Using RocketLab, a company who's openly working with the US military, as a success story here does not instill confidence that they care about ethical business practices. Peter Thiel also invested money in Xero. Why celebrate these companies unless you are happy to ignore dirty money?
