Longer weekends and livable wages? Brother you don’t want AI, you want a union
Man who won’t give his employees piss breaks claims many piss breaks on the horizon
And one of the reasons individual actions cannot solve systemic problems is that privilege takes many forms, and not everyone is capable of doing the same things. "But I did it and I had [x marginalization]" doesn't mean everyone - or even ANYONE ELSE - can also do it.
Until we have systems to replace the ones that exist, harm reduction will be necessary. Also, we need to build new systems. Those are different tasks, not competing ones.
The problem with social media is that folks want harm reduction and liberation to either be the same thing or completely at odds with each other and the truth is neither is true. They're both important. They're just different.
(b) we all owe a duty to reduce the harm we personally cause to the maximum extent we can; and (c) even if all of us did that, so long as the system exists without a replacement, harm will still continue to be done on a massive scale.
There are no individual solutions to systemic problems. We need to simultaneously hold space for the uncomfortable truths that (a) we all hold complicity for our parts in upholding unjust systems that kill, harm, and exploit people;
maga is not a mental illness. please put some respect on the mad folx set. maga is a cult; an abdication of responsibility of one's thinking and a surrendering of duty for the dignity and honor of other people.

We don’t even know what we don’t know. The Tim Heidecker Podcast will never hide the truth. Watch now on InfoWars.
Despite what the “anti-anti-imperialists” who claim the tradition today would have you believe, orthodox critical theory was actually, as Horkheimer wrote in Twilight, all about utter contempt for the “vacuous pacifism which condemns a colonial war & a prison revolt in equal measure for ‘violence.’”
Rookie safety Dillon Thieneman has been a revelation for the Bears’ defense and given that secondary an identity. Check out the full podcast episode with @miketanier.bsky.social, like, and subscribe while you’re there! ⬇️ youtu.be/OJb4INe73Xs

I refuse to let anyone else define for me what's macho or masculine or whatever. The whole point of our transgender lives is we get to define what that stuff means to ourselves!
I’ve been afraid of revealing to my queer friends that I’m a sports fan precisely because of how machismo it all can be. But especially since I started watching the WNBA, I realized that there’s sooooo much more of us in sports fandom than the mainstream would indicate.
Also just, as a trans person, why would you give up ANYTHING to the people who hate you? You're here because you broke free of the prison of other people's expectations for what is or is not acceptable for your life. Keep doing it, all the time, about everything.

I agree with Victoria, and I empathize with any queer person who has avoided engaging with sports because they don't feel welcome. At the same time, I think that if you're brave enough to be an out queer person in sports, you will find your friends and siblings and allies, and it's so fulfilling.
between this article and the northwestern student paper thing (that i think bsky mostly managed to avoid, but has been raging on twitter for days), something i wish straight sports fans understood is: many women and queer ppl reject sports bc everything the culture rejected them first

Take a second today and check out @fmckindra.bsky.social on his reckoning with Arkansas fandom as a gay black man, and the story of E. Lynn Harris (which I certainly didn't know about) arktimes.com/food-and-cul...
Maryland showed everyone the easiest path to growing the game: make it a big deal
It's Prime Day! Or, as we like to call it round here: FUCK YOU JEFF day! Amazon is a scourge on the world, and instead of shopping there to get £60 off a piece of tat you didn't need, instead spend that money supporting cool people! Show off your shop, or a shop you love in the replies!
If you're poor and a communist, they will call you jealous. If you're wealthy and a communist, they will call you a hypocrite. What they really want is for you to shut the fuck up. Don't. Ever.
Socialism is being thrown around a lot, but almost none of these candidates are actually socialists and Americans don't know what socialism means.
Man I just joined my first fantasy football league ever (thanks ESPN mid-season leagues), and I had so much fun drafting a team based purely on vibes and with zero prior research. If you need AI to have fun with a simple sports game, what is even the point anymore… just vibe, hang loose, have fun.
Just saw someone say their AI runs their fantasy football team and I can’t stop laughing. Like, I’m sure everyone’s doing it or something but it’s very funny to me that pretending to be a team manager was so hard that you needed to pretend to pretend to be a team manager
