Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.
It’s not surprising but still jarring to see so many of the politicians claiming to be on “the good side” come out harder to defend a literal traitor to the country who worked for decades to erode civil rights than they ever have try to protect civil rights or save the country from criminal traitors

I wasn't sure what to expect. Seeing the whole thing didn't help much.
This is truly one of the worst things the court has done — both in terms of legitimacy and in terms of the law — since I have been covering the court.
