Gotta shut down the factory that makes this kinda guy
I don't think we should mince words. Transphobia and hatred killed May Pollard. The Idaho legislature killed her as surely as if they'd pointed a gun at her head and pulled the trigger. Anti-trans laws were the gun. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
Idaho pushed anti-trans laws for years. Then a teen died.
The life and death of May Pollard, 16, provides a window into the tragic effect that legislation and political rhetoric have had on trans people in America.

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.
It’s not surprising but still jarring to see so many of the politicians claiming to be on “the good side” come out harder to defend a literal traitor to the country who worked for decades to erode civil rights than they ever have try to protect civil rights or save the country from criminal traitors
Yes, because what matters most was that he made jokes during his efforts to ruin the country. Jesus Christ.
What I’ll remember most about Senator Graham was his sense of humor and how he deployed it to move his policy positions forward. Though we did not often agree, Senator Graham was never disagreeable.
two percent of united states senators are currently dead. check on your senator today!
If you’re mouthing off about how we should give some man the benefit of the doubt even when he’s been accused of sexual assault on top of everything else, that’s you telling on *yourself* that you lack values. And I dunno I’d get that checked out, bros. Or go vote republican, they love misogyny.
i can all but guarantee you there are other women out there who have been sick to their stomachs for 24 straight hours praying that this will be enough. hoping like hell they won't have to rustle up their own traumas for an angry, hateful audience
"Why did the casting of a Black actress cause so much controversy?" because small gangs of slobbering gutter racists aided by an unprincipled media landscape in the business of selling outrage have been allowed to run wild. there is literally nothing else to discuss.
400 masked cowardly Patriot Front bros walking through D.C. once, then fleeing ain’t shit, peeps. They are a tiny fetid drop in the American bucket. Remember Minneapolis at -20F. We are bigger, braver, and stronger. By a mile.
Go for it. Full sun. Dark suit. No AC. Show everyone how real men handle the heat.
Trump: "On July 7, it's going to be approximately 107 degrees out. And I'm gonna go and I'm gonna make a really long speech, just to show I can do anything."
This birthright ruling is why I just refuse to tolerate all the Democrat garment rending over NY voters choosing progressive candidates. They are incapable of governing in this moment. The politics of appeasement and centrism gets us to a 5-4 decision on the constitutional question.
Trans fam: your lives are precious no matter what the fuck these people say translifeline.org/hotline/

First SCOTUS opinion is as bad as it gets: West Virginia law banning trans kids from playing sports consistent with their gender identity is constitutional, according to the fucking fascist six. All three liberal justices dissent.
fuck these motherfuckers for real
The Supreme Court's first decisions are the trans athlete cases. By a 6–3 vote, the court holds that Title IX and the equal protection clause do NOT stop states from excluding trans women and girls from female sports teams. The three liberals dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...
If moderates are losing an ideological civil war it's because their ideology comes down to "I get to run this and you need to stop questioning me" and that's not a political philosophy and you need to learn to actually hide that shit if you're thinking it.
It's easier for media to portray the election as an attack on American Jews than to delve into what NY-10 really was: The second most Jewish Congressional district in the US having a referendum between two Jewish candidates on what it means to do Jewish politics in the age of Trump and Netanyahu.
A beautiful day for Zionists to project their blistering, bottomless self-hatred onto Jews who refuse to assimilate into fascist norms:
If I were a moderate (and white), I would stop whining about Democrats and simply take over the Republican Party.
Two Republican county commissioners who approved an application from Canadian Shark Tank judge Kevin O'Leary to build a single AI data center that would use more than twice the electricity as the entire state of Utah are losing their primaries
The Democratic platform is pro civil rights. A Democrat willing to abandon that the minute a pundit starts whining will abandon the American people as soon as the check clears.
I think the thing I like the most about Claire Valdez is that she not only takes bold stands in support of trans people, but that when people on the right try to use those positions to attack her, she's just like, "yes, that is correct."
personally I don’t think a woman can be irrationally angry, I think all of it is justified and you’re the irrational one
Nancy Mace 🤝 Riley Gaines Trans obsessed conservative women who placed 5th
The correct response to this question, for any and all politicians, is as simple as: why are you asking me about this, it's less common than lightning strikes or alligator attacks. Let's talk about protecting kids from lightning strikes and alligators instead.
Talarico saying he's against "gender reassignment surgery for minors" to lots of nodding and impressed gestures from the Barro/Yglesias crowd and a lot of the politics press is, I think, a great example of how much the well has been poisoned on trans healthcare
I wasn't sure what to expect. Seeing the whole thing didn't help much.
This is truly one of the worst things the court has done — both in terms of legitimacy and in terms of the law — since I have been covering the court.
BREAKING: In an unsigned, per curiam opinion on the shadow docket, the SCOTUS conservatives allow Alabama to use a congressional map held repeatedly by a lower court to have been enacted with discriminatory intent.
God, it rules so much that he skipped his son's wedding because he was so busy, only to sit around making posts about Hulk Hogan.
