Perhaps the most poignant tragedy of the politically-motivated institutionalization of traditional practices is the fossilization of the tradition itself. The accumulated wisdom of the tradition can never be liberated, can never spread worldwide to help more people.

There were only 50 copies of this made for sale (out of a total run of 80), so I thought I’d share as much of it as I can. Numbering of fragments follows the 1982 edition.
