This is a really important piece for many reasons, one of which is that it demonstrates how community practices and platforms like #preprints and #PREreview can be powerful tools to surface and fight #censorship. I observed the #LIVEreview mentioned here and was so impressed. #DefendResearch

RE: https://mas.to/@prereview/117037736288122431 What happens to the scientific record when traditional journal publication is no longer a viable path to disseminate research? Some thoughts from Daniela Saderi and myself here :

You can legally take photos and video. You can even "monitor security" - as long as you do it from a public space. If you're in a public space and not trespassing or otherwise breaking the law, then being detained and having your vehicle searched is ILLEGAL! It's a 4th Amendment violation.

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.

"don't make enough money" is a fig leaf All those degree programs--social work, art, etc.--have disproportionately female student bodies. This is designed to make it harder for women to attend college--college education being a key factor in women's autonomy from men & left-leaning voting pattern.

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v

To overcome racial inequality, we must confront our history. I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

Voter purges can strike suddenly, such as in Alaska. Just this month, over 3,000 Alaskans got knocked off the voter rolls. Wherever you live, check your voter registration (and tell others to check) in case a voter purge snuck in and went unreported. #BlueWaveIn100Days #USDemocracy #MomSky

This is one of the dumbest & most bizarre Executive Orders we have ever read. This EO is a clear political overreach, driven by an ideological agenda to rewrite American history. Our Smithsonian institutions do not belong to the President, but to the American people & so does our nation’s history.
