Hi I'm a AAA dev who is now indie. It's a depressing time, and it would be uplifting to see games industry folks boycott The Game Awards. Later this year Geoff is going to be handing awards to people who literally use plagiarism machines, after unheard of layoffs. Please just don't go.

Worried about your growing games wishlist? Here's some help to make it smaller https://kotaku.com/opening-night-live-2026-genai-slop-games-geoff-keighley-2000728477

I stop eating at businesses that use AI in the art/signs. I downvote games that disclose using genAI in their creative processes. I have responded point-blank to clients asking for me to voice in something - who admit upfront to AI placeholders - I won’t even touch it until it’s completely AI-free

Please be vocal about not using AI. We have to normalize it. No "I'm not going to say that because it should be assumed. I'm not going to give them this". We don't have time for that shit ideological shit right now. NOW is the time to capitalize on waning favorability. Ppl want human made

"I already boycott The New York Times/don't have a subscription, what can I do?" A lot! You can: * Share our call for boycott. Tell others about the NYT's role in trans genocide * Stop sharing NYT links, even to dunk on them * Pressure the pension/retirement funds invested in the NYT to divest

"If trans people want a boycott of The New York Times, where's the call to do so?" Here is a declaration laying out how the NYT is a key driver of trans genocide, why boycotts work and why anyone who gives a damn about trans lives and rights must boycott The New York Times.

The official Steam Demo for Last Days of Tsufana will be launching on SEPTEMBER 16th! 🗓️ ✨Mark those calendars and GET WISHLISTING!✨

i find it disappointing how few opportunities there are for developers i admire, peers in this 'scene', to talk about their processes. i fear the cost of everybody being independent will be vast amounts of trade knowledge dying on the vine.

This isnt even remotely exclusive to gacha games, the fans of a lot of slop mainstream genres love playing the victim because they want to be the most popular, the most accessible, the most expressive, the most hardcore, the most experimental & artistically daring, the easiest & the hardest all at once

I see a gacha fan say "people don't respect the artistry in these games" I think: you've already won, total financial and cultural victory, everyone jerks off to your fave, why do you want my approval? The shrewd mammal was unconcerned with the opinion of the dinosaur, let me go extinct in peace.
