For any organisation with data protection policies, having everything your employees are looking at- all confidential files, password entry fields, financial info, contracts, personal info - being sent to a foreign country by smart glasses wearers should absolutely be on the organisations radar.
To repeat: NZ finds itself at the bottom of the OECD on lobbying - we basically have no effective rules governing lobbying This is eroding voter trust in democracy. It is corruption in plain sight NZ needs fair transparent regulations-any political parties ensuring this will get voter support
Not to brag, but one time I picked the right Tupperware lid on the first try.
It’s good that more people in power are waking up to the need to take adaptation to climate impacts seriously. But it must not be at the expense of every possible action on mitigation. As the UK and Europe endure more record high temperatures, these words from @james-bg.bsky.social come to mind.

The social internet got turned into a giant dopamine farm by a handful of companies who literally hired the same psychologists who design casino floor layouts, and the policy-makers just threw up their hands and said "guess we better ban kids from using the internet then"

Concern about wealth inequality is not about jealousy over some guy having a bigger house. It is more about the fact that it may be a problem that one person has more economic power than entire countries.

Mallory Moore@sexabolition.blog · 3mo agoBy far the biggest problem with delegating judgement to machines is the people who own the machines can tune them towards outcomes they prefer but those who don't own anything can't. It's not the technology. It's a transfer of decision making power from rational accountable systems to capital.
