They aren't claiming the officer feared for his life, but "feared for public safety" when Guerrero attempted to flee. But he was not the target of the warrant. Which means they had no reason to think he was dangerous. Fleeing an immigration stop does not make you a threat to public safety.

In 1872, the Chicago Evening Post published an absolutely brutal editorial mocking people who objected to sharing public spaces with Black people. Still some dated language but a remarkable piece. “Hire a carriage and you can sit all alone by your own sweet self for $2 an hour.”

1872 article reading, in part: “AYou do not like, reader, to sit by the side of a well-behaved negro in a theatre's dress circle? Very well; take a box. The Civility Technicality is the most bitchass lane of all. It’s going around trying to agitate, trying to get punched, trying to goad you into righteous anger so that they can gain publicity or virality in order to advance bad faith agendas. They lie or abuse speech & social order to manipulate.

The lead time needed to capture genuine interest, the investment required to build and sustain a content pipeline that could potentially satiate an audience that can’t be pleased, and a market share that demands time, money and social commitments are dooming project after project in the PVP space

This is no shade. Maybe leftists do need to accept that AI is happening. I will be honest, I’m not updated on what constitutes leftist dogma at any given time. However, I am seeing a familiar pattern of erasure and co-option that I think is anti-power. One might say it is similar to a psy-op.
