One last thought here: The growing animosity towards AI at work is coming at the same time as the growing animosity towards data centers, which are being built to run AI systems, and towards AI products like Meta glasses and AI more broadly. These are likely to be mutually reinforcing trends.

Basically, whether or not you like AI at work will depend on how much power you have; to decide how and how not to use it, to avoid being terminated by an AI-enthused manager, and so on. It further underlines what's long been evident: AI is for the bosses.

This is, of course, not true across the board. There's one cohort that does overwhelmingly have positive things to say about AI: bosses. People in leadership positions, sales managers, and product managers—along with engineers—are among the few to have positive feelings about AI.

Glassdoor has a very revealing report out on worker sentiment regarding AI. Workers' attitudes towards AI have grown increasingly negative, and extremely so in certain fields. This is happening as adoption is scaling, and workers have had *more* exposure. The more they use it, the less they like it.

I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious that's the most important thing pour all of yourself into the craft but have fun and don't get an ego.
