On September 5th, Luigi’s gonna hit the jackpot This’ll be the first Max% showcase from the LM community in over 2 years, and only the second ever that I’m aware of. Supremely rare run to see in a marathon

Screenshot of the Luigi’s Mansion final score screen, showing 142,390,000G on a new file. This is the maximum amount of money obtainable without glitches.

I thought this was a pretty interesting take from Codeberg's announcement of their anti-LLM policy They argue that many developers using LLMs are essentially heaven-banning themselves where they don't realize they're developing for a nonexistent community

# The development team of none

Using LLMs to work with your code gives you a kick of adrenaline. You can develop at a rapid pace, build things as if you had a large team. Only that you have none. In fact, you are (often) alone, working with a statistical machine that turns energy into code.

It seems like many ‘vibe coders’ don't realize that they don't actually have a community around them. They build projects as if they had, and spend resources accordingly. We see projects having a lot of code activity, heavy CI/CD testing, frequent and large release binaries. Sometimes, it feels like the amount of supported platforms exceeds the amount of actual users.

To us, it seems ridiculous to see projects with a single developer and virtually no users consuming as much or even more resources than some of the largest community projects on Codeberg, which operate frugal with CI/CD and storage resources. We do not believe it is reasonable for Codeberg to invest our precious donation money into hosting of large ghost projects.

Is SRC seriously using AI for their posts?? Sorry, but why should I care what you say about our hobby if you can't even bother to say it yourself? Now I have to wonder if our communities' histories are being maintained by a hallucinating machine. Please stop, we are so over this mind numbing slop

Developers ask us how to make a game speedrunners will love. "Built for speedrunners" often reads as gimmicky. The key: replayability, mechanical depth, a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling. A timer and leaderboards are important incentives - but can't be the whole offering.

Trans rights have been litigated vis a vis an intentional, choreographed strategy designed at every turn to look like an organic reaction to progress. Never forget that, especially not in the coming weeks.

You don't need me to tell you this, but trans athletes deserve the dignity and respect to pursue their athletic hobbies/careers, both casually and professionally. Fuck these eugenicists that say otherwise. And don't even get me started on how much this bullshit is gonna affect cis women of color.

Lot of bad rulings today, but realistically this basically drags U.S. youth sports into a perma-AAU setting. Don't want your kid's dick and balls checked by the state because he grew his hair out? Sorry, the cops can just do that now. Ruling will just privatize and make expensive kids playing ball.

While everyone's "all the love to trans folks" posts are nice and it is good to see support We have been getting them for a decade now. If you want to support trans folks, hire us. Support GFMs and asks for mutual aid. Put yourself between trans folks in public if you see harassment.

Trans folks please take it from a bitch with an anxiety disorder: you don't have to be doomscrolling today. You don't have to bear witness to this nightmare. It isn't your duty or something you are bound to do. It's happened. You can take care of yourself today, it's okay. You probably need it.

Aw phew yesterday was a really rough one for no reason but today's a new day I'm sure nothing will-- SEES SUPREME COURT NEWS IMMEDIATELY AFTER WAKING UP Ah. Well then.

The idea that trans women safely flew under the cultural radar until Visibility Discourse is so aggressively ahistorical. You cannot find a mainstream comedy made before 2010 that doesn't have at least one throwaway transphobic joke. In many cases, it's a running gag or a whole cruel plot point.

It wasn't a lack of visibility transfem people were ever fighting against (transmasc people is a different issue). it was having roles where trans people's difficult lives weren't just used as an opportunity to fully dehumanise us repeatedly in the public narrative.

Wacom recently asked me to talk about why I make queer comics, and given there are multiple bills right now floating around in congress that are effectively "we will kill your livelihood if we get a sniff of queer" I had some pretty strong, simply feelings to relay.
