Actually it's more like another phenomenon: When women, typically relating some story of abuse, would post something like "fuck men," and then a bunch of mouth-breathing solipsists would object "not all men." That's cis liberals on here about angry and disappointed trans people.

So many people on this web site are doing the equivalent of that time Roxane Gay confronted a McDonalds drive thru worker, because the Happy Meal Toys were reinforcing the gender binary, to powerless randos in their mentions.

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

Abdul El-Sayed: "Weijia, with all due respect, this is the third time you've asked about a Twitch streamer ... their whole game is to make us fight culture wars so that we don't pay attention to the fact the president has made $2.2 billion ... "

The simple solution is to stop acting as if trans people playing sports is a problem rather that a cynical bigoted misogynistic wedge issue and simply let trans people play sports if they want to.

Saying this as a big Star Wars fan: Pre-Disney Star Wars is a hilariously loaded minefield of iconic stuff that hella stupid or questionable and Disney both wants to get away from it both can't because that stuff is iconic so they kinda just ignore the problem.

after 2020 they took away the name Slave One but didn’t give it another badass name like would make sense and it’s just awkwardly known as Jango/Boba Fett’s Starship and this gets funnier the longer they refuse to name it like why would it have no name just call it Menace-1 or something

Trans people are trying to survive and when they correctly point out that there are Dems who are on the wrong side doing harm, you call them a cult. From the bottom of my cis white midwestern Dem heart; go fuck yourself neighbor. There’s no tent of any kind that fits slander like this.

ever since @eleanor.lockhart.contact pointed out to me that a lot of online trans discourse has the dynamics of a high-control group, I can't stop seeing it. "you can only trust your brothers and sisters in the group" is a tried-and-true social control mechanism

Or create dedicated space in the enormous parking garage next to the walkway. I hate that this shuttle is in the walking space. It’s very unwelcoming and degrades the transit connection.

Hot take: If @flysea.bsky.social wants to run a golf cart along the only pedestrian connection to the light rail they should just drive it at walking speed instead of taking half the space and honking at people.

Photo of a sign in the pedestrian walkway to Link at SEA that reads: "Pedestrians Stay to the RIGHT; Shuttle in use."

Like, you know there's an internal refugee crisis facing the US with trans people fleeing their home states, right? Can you understand why trans people might be more than a little on edge, stressed, angry because of the way we're treated? Perhaps extend a little understanding and empathy.

Transgender Americans are fleeing hostile red states. Seattle says it’s overwhelmed

Seattle officials say anti-trans laws in red states are driving a queer migration crisis in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm so tired of the expectation that all trans people must be perfect advocates and ambassadors at all times, when most of us are not equipped for that whatsoever, and if any one of us slips of falters or says something in anger, it's on all of our heads as if we're collectively responsible.

It's really great as a minority you expected to be a quiet little saint and you're a monster who's no different from a Nazi for making hyperbolic joke about liberals. Meanwhile liberals will tell you to sacrifice your rights voting for a guy who will strip you if your rights because it'll protect

It absolutely did not do this, because if it had the price would have been in the thousands of dollars. Custom-ordered parts and assembled PCBs are hideously expensive mostly because large orders of multiples are required to make one-offs. AND a CAD file is not enough to order them.

Please do this, please let the chatbot run wild with your credit card ordering parts for imaginary gear that will probably burn your house down when you try to turn it on

Vibe hardware is here.
I gave Astra my credit card and asked for a Teenage Engineering-style mini DJ controller.
It generated a concept image, sourced parts, read Chinese datasheets, built a CAD model, ordered everything, then made a Blender animation showing how to assemble it.

James Talarico saying very gently, very sweetly, “Obviously trans girls aren’t ACTUALLY girls, and in fact may be inherently dangerous to REAL girls,” as an olive branch to Texas conservatives on Fox News is infinitely more violent and dangerous than the rhetoric of a powerless trans person venting

George Pearkes • @peark.es
The position "I would mass murder [any group] for any improvement of [other group]" is indistinguishable from Nazism. This is one of the most disgusting political opinions I've ever seen posted on this site (though of course the only person who needs to answer for it is the poster themself).

[redacted quote, originally unredacted by Pearkes]
Just to make our position clear and obvious for all the bigots who are going to be seeking clarity and what is surely ambiguous messaging to them: I would happily grind every cishet centrist liberal into catfood if doing so made one working class trans life better.

A 100K follower account is screenshotting a ~350 (total) follower account in the context of an actual trans genocide, as trans families actually flee their home states for safety, as centrist Democrats blame and abandon them. “Yes, but a random trans person was rude about how this made them feel.”

It is quite honestly MYSTIFYING to me that anyone would find this statement controversial or condoning of violence. It's important, actually, to be clear on how fascist mass violence targets the people in a society who are least able to muster a defense. That's not exactly a minor aspect of Nazism

Gwen Snyder is uncivil@gwensnyder.bsky.social · 24h ago

It's distinguishable from Nazism because Nazism isn't about mass murdering ANY group, it's about mass murdering VULNERABLE groups. Let's not do any kind of mass murder of groups, please, but let's also be clear that Nazism is fundamentally about picking off the vulnerable
