Hoods above a certain height should be banned. It's just dick swinging. These are no better, no stronger, don't carry more loads. They're just big for sake of it and fucking dangerous because of it. Banning them from regular parking spaces and garages would be a good start.

There is an X-files episode on this. Season 2, Episode 9: 'Firewalker" -- where there is an organism that grows inside the deadly, extreme heat environment of a volcano. Extremophiles are so friggen weird!

But to everyone’s surprise (except the biologists’, apparently), there was something quite alive in the soil! The researchers found soil thermophiles in samples from the bottom of the pit, distinct from the microorganisms present at the edge of the pit. 4/7

I admit, if you ignore where it says ‘unreleased’ right below the headline (and on our homepage), then skip past the part where we say it required a code review, and ignore paragraphs 4, 8, 10, 12, 16, and all the adjectives that mean undisclosed, it does read like an active feature.

Listen, I’m so very very weary this evening, but I just wanted you to know that the Irish Government has introduced a Bill to justify biometric police surveillance that doesn’t follow EU Law and their idea is based it on having a definition of biometric processing different from in the AI Act.

The world’s largest sand battery got through Finland’s harshest winter in years. 2,000 tonnes of sand, heated to 500-600°C by cheap power, feeding district heating in Pornainen. And it worked. Result from one install: oil down 100%, emissions down 70%. Industrial process heat is the real prize.
