Found this on the beach. It's either a giant crab, or the remains of that creature which attached itself to John Hurt's face in that film about an alien. I can't remember what it was called.

If you were walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path this morning, have previously visited Walnut Canyon National Monument, and you lost your hat with a badge on it, I may have some good news for you.

The BBC athletics website doesn't show the Commonwealth Games in its calendar of events, nor are there any big features about the meet. There are, however, some articles gleefully reporting various athletes pulling out of the games. I wonder if they're sulking because the coverage went elsewhere?

My first dawn swim in a while. On the way to the beach, I startled a fish which was only a couple of feet from the shore. The wildlife was wary. A lone gull flew overhead, circling me once. A clattering of jackdaws, all flying on the same heading, split slightly, so that none flew directly over me.
