Always great to get out to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, one of three stations worldwide for the NASA Deep Space Network. It was talking to Voyager 2 when I took the pictures
"VR" doesn't make you motion sick, bad developers not following best practices do. If you do it right, you can mitigate most forms of visual vestibular mismatch
What's something that experts/practitioners in your field universally agree upon, but that remains a "hot take" among the general public?
Your favourite game was not your favourite game until in the last 5% of development. Some games you don't like would've been your favourite game had they made different decisions in the last 5%

The Project Hail Mary movie is to its book what The Martian movie was to its book. Entertaining, but better if you have read the book. There were a lot of things my friends who haven't read the book didn't catch.

A really lovely anecdote about @tovanbo.bsky.social from @markschramm.bsky.social in the middle of our discussion as I’m thinking about @devinreimer.bsky.social and Stellar Cafe. You can make a developer’s day by leaving a review expressing how their worked affected you.

If music was reviewed like videogames are: "This metal song has too much drums." "I wish this song wasn't metal, I like Rap. It should be Rap." "The song is good but they should hire a new singer" "The thing is they're using Gibson guitars, they need to switch to Fender and it'll sound better"

Spent the weekend building a new living room shelf out of acacia. Very simple design; only hurt myself three times
