Fear of gen AI and the failure to use it correctly is currently demoting an entire section of the game industry from professional to amateur hobbyist. Not open to using AI in your game coding job? Congrats, u are now retired from professional work. Not joking. Dead serious.

I don't find the "AI tools train you to rely on them" thing very compelling, like yeah, that's how good tools work. It sucks when someone takes away your phillips screwdriver or your autocomplete IDE or google search for APIs. What you're saying when you say it is actually "It's a good tool."
I will only play games that are artisanally programmed by depressive 50-year-olds that have spent the last year working with Claude Code to develop a novel Forth language that they claim allows them to communicate with angels
I want to be very clear here, I'm not advocating against using meth, as a software engineer I use meth everyday to help me be more productive
What an odd philosophy 🤪 (FWIW, I've learned this philosophy of treating all kids as if they're our own makes dealing with kids on an airplane infinitely easier for me as well!)
El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"
really interesting analysis of the raspberry pi PIO coprocessor from a hw designer perspective; bunnie reimplements it in FPGA to learn, decides hes curious about a more RISC approcah to the same problem space, and... implements that. awesome work & writeup. www.bunniestudios.com/blog/2026/bi...

EA's annual Ebitda is around $1.5 billion, which should be enough to service the interest payments. But the publisher has told debt investors that it will cut $700 million in annual costs including $170 million in "organizational efficiencies," per Bloomberg. In other words: mass layoffs
just like I thought, it turned out to be confirmation bias
Laid off again. No notice, no severance. What a time to be alive and suddenly unemployed again. So long, and thanks for all the crunch.

Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.
Saw #TheOdyssey in 70mm tonight at a local independent theatre and it was rad. Some lucky patron got a piece of the film on 70mm to take home as a souvenir too! I'm actually happy for them but wish it was me.

How we use /goal to find bugs in Patch the Planet
Over the first few weeks of Patch the Planet, our engineers found three techniques for using /goal, which hands Codex an open-ended objective and lets it work independently toward a success condition.
