Median UK voter in 2026, as predicted by Hugh Laurie some decades ago:
In celebration of #YorkshireDay, please enjoy this Sean Bean bastard collection. Sound up, bastards.

I actually know the answer to this and it's slightly insane. Google pulls from Wikipedia to determine if a place is a city, town, neighbourhood, whatever. Brighton's first line describes it as a "seaside resort" so Google Maps thinks it's a neighbourhood and doesn't display it in the "city" font.
I'm suspicious that the new "Indie Forever" stream & its relentless promotion this week is softening up the audience for the BBC to take another swing at 6 Music 🤨
"The BBC has confirmed Blankety Blank, Celebrity Mastermind and Live at the Apollo will not be returning." "These difficult decisions form part of the BBC’s previously announced first phase of its proposals to make £500m of savings over the next three years." www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/...

This is an excellent take-down, and sold me a subscription. For the price of this bad book, I could have paid for >3 months!
You deserve better literature than Dungeon Crawler Carl. www.jank.cool/you-deserve-...
I've been spending some time analysing the code and systems of the epic 1988 BBC game Exile resulting in a (I hope) bit perfect recreation in TypeScript and a set of @markmoxon.bsky.social inspired deep dives into its working. bbcexile.com #retrocomputing #bbcmicro #gamehistory
Franz Liszt was the best Suede guitarist. I will not be taking questions.
Such an anti-ad on TV for the pervert glasses - massive twats storming around the city with no friends shouting "Meta! Take a picture!" Sure dufuses that's much better than pressing a button.
After release, a game costs the publisher $0 to keep selling forever. And therefore removing an old game from sale, or stopping its online service, is just mindless vandalism.
game devs: what are the myths that a lot of players of games think are true about making games that are completely untrue? If you could snap your fingers and they suddenly all knew the truth about it what would it be?

Oxford drinkers may finally be able to swear in the Three Goats’ Heads after the death of Humphrey Smith, the irascible owner of Sam Smiths Brewery, at the age of 81. The pub chain enforced strict bans on swearing and mobile phone use. Smith was described in a Facebook pubs group as “an absolute tit

SoftBank’s investor presentation is one of the greatest things ever made. I’ve been thinking about it all day. These are the real slides shown in a speech where Masayoshi Son said he wouldn’t retire for at least another decade. The goose stuff is truly demented. Bravo group.softbank/media/Projec...
It’s only a USB port if it’s on the left side of your device, otherwise it’s a USB starboard.
Who wants to make a PAPERS, PLEASE-style game about getting your child ready for each day of school, using the crumbs of information from the principal, the teacher, and the calendar, in their emails, PDF attachments, and assorted apps?
Hate it when people suggest children will be happy if they play outside. I remember playing outside. It was fucking dreadful. I wanted to go back in and play video games and read comics, but apparently being outside held some kind of magic power which erased adults' critical faculties.
