A little something for all you LaneSaber and bicycle safety fans! This video shows how easy it is to reach and deploy when you need additional safety. BONUS: Included are some driver “testimonials” showing I’m not blocking them, just slowing down and lowering road stress.

Someone running a radio show reached out to me to see if I knew of any Alberta-based blue-green alliance (unions and environmental groups) or union leaders who oppose the Grassy Mountain mine and might be willing to talk about it. Does that sound like anyone on this app?

Also, why can people just buy a vehicle that has a death rate DOUBLE the average for people outside their vehicle. I feel like very large trucks need some regulations so people driving them in the city prove a special requirement to have it and special abilty to drive it safely around other.

👆When you read this story it tells you that Alberta’s UCP government position to remove safe bicycle infrastructure is really a position stating it’s okay if people die on Alberta streets, including children. And if you support their UCP, you are also saying it’s ok. #Alberta #Calgary #Edmonton

I've got some time, I might need to write a nice email & maximize the possible attachments to what @markusoff.bsky.social has now called (love it, btw) Alberta's "Barbaric Urban Bicycle Lanes Tip Line". 🤣🚲 My MLA, @jceci.bsky.social is a cyclist, so he may a word or 5000 for Dreeshen, too.

There is an email reportabikelane@gov.ab.ca (I really thought this email was a joke when I saw someone share it).

If you've got tons of disposable income because you ditched a car, I fully endorse a bakfiets and longtail combo! They both fill such great niches. Plus, if one goes down waiting for a part (god forbid) you still have a capable ride for you and your family!

Check out @shifter.info's video on choosing a cargo e-bike. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIhb... Plus look at what I'll do for the sake of research.

It’s really important that the #Vancouver Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced. Safe bike-lanes mean business.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this is only 20% of the original ambition that Pathways spent a lot of time advertising on their website (as seen in this wayback machine grab from 2024 for example). While targets change one might reasonably question if they were really "on a path"

pathways homepage as captured by the wayback machine in march 2024 with the text "Canada's oil sands are on a path to reach net- zero emissions from
operations"
