Sewer Socialism beats climate change and bureaucracy explains the world. Re tootskeets don't endorse, new tootskeets represent nobody. they/she 🚰🌹🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸 🇺🇦 🇲🇽 🇨🇦 🇵🇦 🇬🇱 🇻🇪 🇮🇷

My co-chair told me Russia keeps eating her diplomats so I asked how many diplomats she has and she said she just goes to the state department and gets a new diplomat afterwards so I said it sounds like she’s just feeding diplomats to Russians and then her international committee started crying.

A semi realistic proper post US order that isn't total shit would be one where the EU and Turkey-Saudi-Egypt develop a semi conservative concert of peace for MENA (which would at minimum require crippling Israel and requiring it to relinquish all 1967 territories) and liberalizing migrant laws.

DSA is injecting some much needed youthful energy into the Democratic Party, and we are long due for a reckoning on Palestine, and many DSA elected officials like Mamdani are great. But this idea that every conflict can be solved by the US being less involved is profoundly stupid and ahistorical.

Remnick: So we shouldn't send weapons to Ukraine? DSA co-chair Megan Romer: No! Remnick: So, just allow Russia to overrun Ukraine entirely? Romer: We should be sending huge teams of diplomats. We should figure out how to negotiate.w

I know everyone's already dunking on this, but fact of the matter is that there are things worth defending that can only be dealt with via military force. And I wish that weren't so, but defending these things is just, and necessary.

Are we gonna do “Woke 1 was crazy” discourse? I think it’s relevant that she used it as a pivot to say, we were looking for any and all solutions and the ultimate development was positive. She’s literally talking about the dialectic, and the mutual relations between historically progressive actors.

Says a lot about the incentive structure of US politics on the left of center that every single progressive is scrutinized for every little thing while the most rabidly right wing Democratic member of Congress can go talk to Trump's stenographer and call his fellow party members bigots.

#MichiganSenate

Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) says Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in Michigan is evidence that the Democratic Party is being overrun by antisemitism.

Gottheimer: “This week, Abdul El-Sayed won Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary. He didn’t do so by focusing on lower costs for families. Instead, he did so by making the U.S.-Israel relationship the villain of his campaign, repeatedly questioning Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.”

Rowling has threatened multiple people with SLAPP suits in mostly successful attempts to shut down their speech, but @indexoncensorship.org, supposed opponents of censorship everywhere, who have been very vocal on SLAPP suits over the past few years, have said absolutely nothing about it whatsoever.

Emma the Sewer Socialist@mayorseidel.bsky.social · 2d ago

It would be nice if a major human rights organization had a report identifying this animus as hateful, and stood up to SLAPP lawsuits like these. @amnestyuk.bsky.social do you know any?

Easy way to save money in the budget is just to assign cops less overtime for events that don’t need policing. Like I get you might need a few on standby in case of emergency and until we do woke public safety that means cops, but they do not need to keep squeezing us dry.

Mikhail Gorbaechev@mikhailgorbaechev.bsky.social · 2d ago

There's like a hundred cops just hanging out at Classon and Atlantic, the bullshit overtime these fucking guys milk from us is ridiculous.

the other reason it is important to do this is that the actual work of rebuilding is going to be hard and expensive and our budget has had several giant holes blown in it you are not going to be able to deliver Medicare for All to the people on January 21, 2029 but you can go after the oligarchs

imagine a future where *we* appropriate the vicious symbolism of ICE in a merciless crack-down billionaires and the MAGA class: fancy production value videos of bashing down their fancy doors, slapping bags over their spray-tanned heads, black helicopters, shattered ugly gold homewares, etc etc

Reminder for all watching the Labour party go "well, we have to enforce segregation of trans people, the law's the law" The UK is not the USA. Parliament is sovereign and Labour have a thumping big majority; they could, trivially, amend the equality act to end this. They are choosing not to.
