I reject the notion there is this mass of smart, thoughtful and caring Americans who just don't vote. Choosing not to vote is actually a huge red flag that you are none of those things.

Beshear isn't the problem, he's made a politically astute and legal move. The problem is that the GOP is willing to do this for a retiring, safe-seat Republican whose already resigned from the leadership. What will they be willing to do if Trump is incapacitated?

Putting aside the obvious "no he won't" aspect, the mechanics are a bit more subtle, but this whole concept of *America* promoting the use of tolls is a Brexit-level strategic own-goal. Freedom of the high seas was central to America's rise as a superpower and is essential in maintaining it.
