I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

Vaccines work. If there’s a vaccine for it, I have been vaccinated. So has my entire family. None of us has developed the diseases we’ve been immunized against. That’s exactly what vaccines are designed to do. Dr. Fauci was a scientist working in an environment hostile to science. Nobody wins.
I talk to people all the time about this. We've memory-holed an unprecedented global threat. One that caused millions of deaths and long-term disabilities. And it's only been six years! I feel like a lot of the insanity of recent years stems from our inability to even recognize the trauma

We had no firm idea how bad it could get, how it spread, or how to treat for it. Now, these bastards on the right act like the whole thing was just a minor inconvenience blown out of proportion.
man I will just never get over the fact that the collective response to the pandemic, and an absolutely miraculous vaccine development, was to destroy public health in this country and smear everyone involved I generally take a positive view of humanity overall but it's so depressing

The Odyssey is a nice example of the problem with every effort to "understand" Trumpers. There's nothing to "understand" here: this man has no idea what happens in Homer's epic, he's an arrogant dimwit with a made-up version in his head that he uses as an excuse to be weird and racist. That's it.

I have said repeatedly that Russell Vought should be impeached. Congress appropriates and this is a high crime against its powers under Article I. The most important thing DOGE did was take over the appropriations pipes at Treasury. If you wanted to close USAID and CFPB pass a bill.
