FWIW, both of VDARE’s founders were on the masthead of the National Review in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Peter Brimelow was also a staffer for Senator Orrin Hatch. This white nationalist thread has been present in the conservative movement for a long time. Screenshot is from 1997.

The question of whether the massive consumer industrial economy we’ve built is sustainable (spoiler: no, not in its current iteration) is different from the question of whether it’s benefiting consumers (yes, for the vast majority). It’s analytically useful to separate these things out.

Some ppl in my intellectual community don't agree with me but I believe it's important to have a prosperous economy. & one of my master theories about the world is that we squander SO much of our natural resource base on animal agriculture, which is not economically important. 1/
I am out of my depth and don't want to speculate, but this seems like one of those things where the use of city lines as the unit of analysis can have pretty big consequences. Have any criminologists tried to normalize for this? If so, how?

This project is going to ULURP months faster than it would have otherwise, because of reforms to state environmental law that were pushed by @opennewyork.org. That's going to make this project cheaper and faster to build and will lead to more housing over time, making NYC even better.

I can't stress enough what a crisis this is. Trump's own intelligence agencies concluded that Iran attacked Minnesota's critical infrastructure and Trump is saying that it's Minnesota's own fault and denying it was Iran. The federal government won't defend blue states in a literal war.
