There had better be prosecutions. The failure to jail Trump immediately in 2021 was such a tell about the weakness of corporate democrats. Even more than dark money, it has pushed voters toward the DSA.

Here's why this is so grim. Folks expected jobs growth to slow to +80k, but we got -23k. Also downward revisions to the last two months subtracted a total of -103k. So over the past three months, the US economy created about -200k fewer jobs than we had thought.

What most are exposed to, through establishment political discourse and corporate media, is a working out of wealth class divisions framed as general politics. Everything from the center-right to the far right is acceptable, while the appearance of actual class based politics is framed as dangerous.
As this happens, political discourse revolves around cultural divisions, which are expressions of class tension, rather than class politics, which is where the supermajority actually resides. Meanwhile, the Far Right feints leftist critique of capitalism on behalf of wealth and oligarchical classes
The silent agreement between the parties is to avoid actual issues that have supermajority consensus among voters and instead fight over wealth class-backed, think-tank designed wedge issues while corporate media communicates a 50/50 split, a need for moderation, and paints leftists as dangerous.
