Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

On the plus side, maybe there are a few of the historic racist right commentariat having a good old cogitate over whether or not they might get the Rod Liddle treatment when they finally go, and whether or not they do in fact want that to be their legacy. One can hope.

You can be disappointed at the reaction, but - like you would say to those celebrating that the world is a slightly better place today - you don't have to choose to say anything. Instead, you choose coming down on the side of "respect the racist misogynist nonce" and, I'm sorry, but absolutely not.

I do care enough to have a strong opinion on someone who wrote a national press article asking "what's so bad about looking at child porn?". He suffered zero career damage as a result of that and it seems rather a damning indictment of the whole business that everyone just completely ignored it.

After the cruel impact of changes to the skilled worker visa scheme, there’s another hostile action from the Home Office, this time directed at EU citizens granted right to remain after Brexit. These life shattering letters disrupt peoples’ lives built in the UK and are are utterly shameful.

Very obliging of #r4today to lead with Reform’s ‘plan’ to stop the boats using the Royal Navy, pretending it’ll be some great WWII-style escapade, rather than a hateful, costly, diplomatically incontinent mess. A total waste of everyone’s time as they’ll never be in power and it’s unworkable anyway.

Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth
