Just yesterday I was listening to a v good tour guide explaining the economic transformation in Korea that followed Gangnam style - one song! Arts (and heritage) have a huge economic footprint and that still seems to be a mystery to UK politicians, who don’t know our own strengths.

The new Prime Minister is writing a "10-year plan" for the UK. The arts & culture MUST be part of it. I've signed @campaignforthearts.org's petition urging @andyburnham.bsky.social to revitalise the arts – to revitalise the whole nation 🌱 www.campaignforthearts.org/petitions/10-year-plan/

Almost the worst thing about modern life is the apps begging you not to break your streak while you're away for a while. It's like, you're a piano learning app and I have no piano with me. Or I used an app to learn a bit of an alphabet or language, and now I'm off speaking it...

My argument: if generative AI increasingly mediates knowledge retrieval, translation, synthesis, & narration, AI governance has to address epistemic authority. I proposed this 5-part framework for epistemic accountability. I’d love to hear what resonates, what needs work, & what you’d add (2/2)

An infographic showing the epistemic governance framework. At the top of the infographic is the title in black text: "Five Dimensions of Epistemic Accountability". Beneath this in black text "A structural framework for auditing how knowledge is organized, mediated, and represented in AI systems". At the centre is a red circle. Inside the circle, in white text is "Epistemic Accountability". Arranged around this circle in grey rectangles, from bottom left to bottom right, are the five dimensions written in red with black text beneath. The first rectangle reads: "Uncertainty Communication. What is known, inferred or absent?" Next: "Community Authority. Who decides, and who benefits?" Next: "Provenance Visibility. Where did this knowledge come from?" Next: "Context Preservation. What meaning survives mediation?" Next: Contestability & Redress. Who can challenge it?" At the bottom is a Key Takeaway: AI governance must account for how knowledge is sourced, mediated, contested and authorized

Last week the posy I brought home from the garden had a chrysalis attached though I didn't notice till I got home. If you, like me, haven't watched a butterfly emerge you won't be prepared for how amazing or how long emergence takes #TinyJoys a 🧵

Really interesting perspective on how digital cultural heritage depends not just on digitisation, but on sustainable infrastructures for access, preservation and discovery. #DigitalHumanities #CulturalHeritage #DigitalInfrastructure
