Moved over from X. Mid-westerner. Slava Ukraina! Life-long Dem. Until we fix the right-wing propaganda hold on the populace, things will get rapidly worse.
The Golden State's self appointed “rivals” had the largest increases in job losses. Texas was #1 — up 108,000 Florida was #2 — up 79,000 Meanwhile, fewer Californians are out of work!
Supermajority in California doesn't count. She was a bad candidate, she ran a bad campaign, and we've all had this argument a zillion times. She lost for a lot of reasons but "centrism" wasn't one of them.
*AWFUL campaign *AWFUL candidate ***STILL WON THE POPULAR VOTE BY MILLIONS** Being a centrist didn't get her. Being coronated rather than vetted and not being able to be bothered to campaign in swing states sunk her.
Like many of the people here who have a strange obsession with The Atlantic, he has attacked the magazine. JD Vance has mentioned me, but not warmly. And Pete Hegseth's office has trolls working in it who do not speak highly of me on X.
Has #47 ever attacked @radiofreetom.bsky.social ??
I will never tire of pointing out that people who say this don't understand elections and that's why they lose. To paraphrase Agent Colson, it's in their nature.
HRC got 3 million more votes than her opponent.
What a surprise, the alleged abuser was jacking himself up on testosterone.
“I’m staying in the race because, thanks to President Trump paving the groundwork, sexual assault and violence against women is widely and openly accepted now, so there’s really no reason to drop out.”
TAPPER: Hold on -- hold on, 'cause I'm not done with the list of women who have accused you of violence. Are all three of them lying? REP. MAX MILLER: Yes. And I'm not getting out of the race because in 2016, President Donald J Trump faced the most extreme allegations in the world ...
"Nobody knows" can always be directly substituted for "I did not know."
Trump: "Nobody knows that 'dumb' doesn't have a B" (Dear reader, it has a B)
RE: the last screenshot, on Doug Burgum: It's worth noting that Burgum ended up being the point man in Trump's war against wind power, and so had to get comfortable blatantly and publicly lying to do that. Once you start getting comfortable with it, future instances become easy.
It's funny that Jeanine Pirro brought a box of evidence to WH to persuade Trump. He wants her to consciously *throw out* exculpatory facts and *knowingly* prosecute innocent people. So facts can't persuade him by definition. Me and @barbmcquade.bsky.social on this: newrepublic.com/article/2139...
You realize the electorate required to win a democratic primary is very different than the electorate required to win a general election, right?
Whoever advised Max Miller to go on to Jake Tapper’s show secretly hates him. What a catastrophic interview
The left: we want the Epstein files The right: we want the Epstein files The center: we want the Epstein files Trump: best I can do for you is Fauci’s diary, some lies about the reflecting pool, and a failed war in Iran
This hasn’t gotten much attention, but it should. While everyone was focused on Schedule F, the administration created something even broader. On July 30, a new OPM rule took effect that creates a second way to fire federal employees outside the normal civil service process.
On the same day that David Ellison claims he's not putting his finger on the scale, there's this: "CBS’s 60 Minutes had the scoop on Jeffrey Epstein’s sketchy financials—before the Bari Weiss–run network fired the reporter fronting the investigation."
Banks permitted millions in suspicious transactions tied to Epstein—and former 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi had the story months ago. But the report would never air. trib.al/ZShZlIS

I mean yeah, it’s the corruption. But it’s also that he impulsively spends billions and makes policy the way most rich dudes buy luxury sports cars. He heard about it on the golf course and now he has to have it. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/01/c...
Trump’s Fixation on Arctic Ships Led to Billions in No-Bid Contracts
The president decided to buy 11 polar icebreakers after a game of golf with Finland’s president. Experts say it’s far from clear the United States needs so many.

A lot going on here. First, Miller looks shaken. Or drunk. Second, he comes off every bit the creep that he seems to be. Saying he isn't dropping out because Trump didn't drop out after being accused of sexual assault is a hell of a choice. And third, he doesn't appear to know what hearsay means.
Tapper: "There are now three women who have accused you of violent behavior…Are all three of these women who don't know each other lying?" Rep. Max Miller: "Yes…It's all hearsay." Tapper: "It's not hearsay if it is firsthand testimony from women."
They know voters hate this shit. So they wait until Blanche has the votes for Collins to come out against him. So she can claim to be a moderate. So she gets reelected. So she can spend the next two years voting for more Todd Blanches.
Susan comes out against Todd Blanche now that he's got the votes. So tiresome. (We called it: tinyurl.com/3bepafkz) #MEpolitics
If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

You could have voted to impeach in January 2000. Instead, you voted for no witnesses and no documents to be allowed at trial. You are a failed person, Cornyn.
Phang: "Capital One said, 'We don't want the business anymore of the 45th president of the United States, his businesses, his failed sons, and his revocable trust.' So you can imagine -- I am just hypothesizing... but it suggests whatever Capital One uncovered was pretty bad. Makes you wonder..."
Not even close. We just feel the survival of American Democracy is more important than ideological wishcasting. This is about control of the Senate. I’d vote for a block of cheese if it was clear it had the best chance of winning the general.
I'm not sure that she is. But AES is likely going to be a problem for Democrats in other races in a way she won't.
What reason is there to believe that Haley Stevens is a better Senate candidate?
Call me crazy, but if a Democratic president had 350 accounts closed by their bank for money laundering it’d be more than a blip in the media
Oh for the love of all that is holy...
Cornyn: "There's nothing we could do to rein in the president"
I would like to propose the Taco Bell Principle When a person/institution Did A Problem, & IMMEDIATELY fesses up & takes proactive steps to solve it That's exactly what we want them to do? So how bout we let them live ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!
Imagine thinking so little of yourself that you just let this half sentient rotten potato talk to you like this. I don't care if he's president, have some self respect.
Trump says Jeanine Pirro "choked" and then snaps at a reporter who asks if her job is safe: "Don't ever talk again"
