Two awesome moments in to-night's playtest session of Protect the Child: 1. The crew moved heaven and earth to make sure the kid has a normal relationship with food. 2. The crew is VERY invested in making trains a part of this kid's personality.
Playing a fifteen year old boy named Godammit made my twenty-session campaign of Apocalypse World smaller, angrier, fiercer, and forced me to be more honest about the place of violence in our game. At the end of the campaign, Godammit looked at a weapon and called it brother.

Just finished a game of Band of Blades that lasted half a year. What a ride! I loved getting to be part of a full Forged in the Dark campaign. It taught me a lot about what this system can do, and it also let me play some of the worst characters.

In solo RPG book club today I played Time to Kill by @gilarpgs.bsky.social. I was not ready for so much drama to unfold entirely within a hotel lobby. The prompts had my hit man thinking about his mentor who died and about getting out... and when the target arrived he realized it was his mentor!
