Missing Defcon and hacker summer camp already. Today I also had to explain to my boss why I can't come to the US for the team meetup and get-together. Somewhat awkward explaining you're probably not going to be allowed into the US without revealing you're trans.

People have been yelling at Roz for several days now. Can we give it a rest? Roz has been in queer and trans activism longer than I have been alive. She doesn’t speak over activists now, but damn well has a right to speak from experience. Can people not just disagree on strategy and move on?

Drinking espresso martinis, discussing with my fiancé at what point we need to flee the UK. I don't want to leave my home. My family. My friends. With every passing month, it feels more and more inevitable. We are losing so hard and I can't see how it stops.

There is however also the trap of “reasonableness” where they say “be reasonable” and they just take inch and inch and inch and then there is nothing left too. So some bite is sadly needed alongside the polite defending.

I think the key thing here that people sometimes overlook is 'optics'. We all laugh at a picture of an MP holding up a printout of a meme telling TERFs to shut the fuck up - but that's us, in our community. It isn't seen that way by everyone else. How it looks to outsiders matters. 1/4

Seeing people criticising this as a kind of tone policing or call for politeness and i dont think it is, to me its more dont get in trouble for something stupid, like if you are going to be in trouble have it be for something meaningful rather than foolishly saying something bloodthirsty

This is really bleak.

The NHS said it “consulted” about its transphobic changes to data. This presumably refers to the Sullivan Review. I asked every UK national trans-led organisation if they were contacted by The Sullivan Review, none reported that they had been.

I am so mad again at healthwatch for just blindly endorsing Sullivan and once again peddling the lie that this change is for our own safety, completely disregarding hundreds of people complaining about this awfulness of it
